PLAY BY PLAY

Antonio Cueto lets someone know “everything is ready.”

He’s planning yet another Sacrifice to the Gods for tonight. But then he sees Mariposa walking in. The monarch of the Moth Tribe finally meets the legendary father. Her father had so many stories about him, but they didn’t do the man justice. Mari never expected Antonio was so handsome. She always “fantasized about being with a Cueto, because it was forbidden.” But this isn’t about seduction. This is about the Gift of the Gods Championship. Antonio apologizes to the “young butterfly”, but she isn’t deserving. The Moths have a lot of money, and they always get what they want. She throws down big stacks, and waits for his response.

“Money is the ultimate aphrodisiac.” And Antonio can never say no to someone as beautiful and dangerous as her. She never takes no for an answer, either. She takes her leave, but will she be taking the Gift of the Gods title, too?

Trios Match: The White Rabbit Tribe VS ???

Before the Mad Hatter, Paul London, and his kooky cohorts begin this match, Antonio Cueto lets them know he’s proud they volunteered for this match. But however,  he’s changing this match up so that only one man competes. Make your decision now. Paul London steps up, and volunteers Mala Suerte. Mala is surprised, but London says that when he failed the tribe last week, he failed The White Rabbit. This is his punishment. But don’t worry, this is his chance for redemption. Antonio lets Mala know he’s been chosen, as the next Sacrifice to the Gods!!

Sacrifice to the Gods: Mala Suerte VS Matanza Cueto!

Talk about bad luck for Mr. Bad Luck himself. He looks all around, but here comes The Monster! Mala hits first with a wrecking ball dropkick. He puts Matanza in the corner and throws forearm after forearm! He even gives the demigod some Popeye rope-a-dope! Mala then goes to the far corner, and the Believers are rallying behind him. He stands up top, to then hop down and hippity-hop into a running dropkick! But it all does nothing to the Monster. Matanza runs Mala over with one headbutt! Matanza whips and hits WRATH OF THE GODS! Cover, Matanza wins!

Winner: Matanza Cueto, by pinfall

The Monster is 4-0 in these Sacrifice matches, and though Saltador begs for mercy, Paul London lets Matanza sacrifice Mala in a flash of lightning. London laughs though his trio is now just a duo. Will the White Rabbit be pleased with this outcome?

Joey Ryan & Jack Evans VS XO Lishus & Ivelisse!

This match is full of eccentricity and oozes aggression. And in the Sleazy One’s case, it oozes body oil… The Baddest Bitch in the Temple has had issue with the erotic egotist while the Dragonslayer has issue with the neon-colored newbie getting the upset victory in his debut. Can #Ivelishus defeat the Mouth & The Musk?

The bell rings and Jack starts against Ivelisse. She mocks his chit-chat as they tie up. Jack baits Ivelisse into a low grapple to then kick her stomach. He wrenches an arm but she reverses to a hammerlock. She ducks his elbow to give him a hammerlock STO! Jack kicks back but she catches it to stomp a hand. Jack comes back but she ducks the kick. He springboards but she gets under again. Ivelisse throws Jack with a huricanrana, and he scrambles to tag out. Joey Ryan comes in, puts the lollipop away, then runs at Ivelisse, only to get an arm-drag. Ivelisse puts Joey in her corner, for a swift chop! Tag to XO before another chop. Ivelisse feeds Joey to XO’s twerk attack! XO gives Joey ten whole booty bumps before pushing him away.

Believers fire up but so does Joey. There seem to be strange chemistry between these two. The fans sense it as they point out “Joey Likes It!” Joey wants XO to plant a big one right on the lips. XO obliges, with big basement dropkick! XO twerks into a moonsault, but Joey dodges! Joey tags in Jack, and Jack springboards in for a karate kick to XO! Jack puts XO in a corner for haymakers, then whips corner to corner. XO reverses, then handsprings in, for a SLAP! Jack is furious, but XO goes Matrix to dodge the clothesline. Then spiderwalks to creep Jack out. XO handspring kicks Jack down, covers, but Joey stomps it apart. Joey grabs a leg but is pushed away. Hot tag to Ivelisse!

Ivelisse rallies on Joey & Jack with forearms. She scorpion kicks Jack, then whips him to ropes. Jack rolls off her back, but she blocks his kick. She flips him back but he lands on his feet for a spinning roundhouse! Fans applaud, because they respect the ability. But then they boo because they hate his ego. Jack covers, TWO! Jack grows frustrated but fans rally for Ivelisse.

Tag to Joey, and he keeps Ivelisse away from XO. He puts her in an open corner, to grind his boot into her chin. She reaches for XO, but Joey keeps her away with a snapmare and a grind into the mat. She scrambles free but can’t get away from Joey. He puts on a chinlock as fans rally up again. She feeds off the energy and fights back with body shots. Joey pushes her but she ducks under his clothesline to then wheelbarrow DDT! Both of them are down but the fans are on Ivelisse’s side. Hot tags to Jack and XO! XO slides under Jack’s boot to give him a dropkick-flip and a back elbow. XO back kicks, front kicks, sweeps and split-legdrop! Cover but Joey breaks it again.

Ivelisse kicks Joey out, then helps XO. XO catapults Jack into a SUPERKICK, and then Jack falls back onto XO’s knees! She adds a switch kick, and dropkicks Joey back out. XO covers, TWO! XO and Ivelisse have a short argument, but Ivelisse goes after Joey again. He puts her on the apron to SUPERKICK her down! Joey runs into a heel kick from XO, but Jack lurks on the outside. XO twerks again, then hits the knee-sault. But Jack’s the legal partner, and he comes flying in with a springboard roundhouse! Jack shouts “It’s over!” as he puts XO in to a modified gogoplata, pulling XO’s throat into the shin of his leg! XO endures, but fades out. The ref calls it, Jack & Joey win!

Winners: Joey Ryan & Jack Evans, Jack by submission

But Jack won’t let go! The referee and even Joey tell Jack to stop, this is too much. Joey pries at Jack’s hold but Jack resists. Ivelisse comes in and stomps Jack out! XO is free, but the damage is done. Wanting to win is one thing, but Jack seems hellbent on making the flamboyant rookie suffer. Jack says it won’t be over until XO is dead! Will XO make a recovery? Or will the Dragonslayer soon be the Lishuslayer, too?

Gift of the Gods Championship: El Dragon Azteca Jr VS Mariposa!

The Heir to the Eagle Tribe had a long and winding road to his first Gift of the Gods creation match, mostly because Antonio Cueto kept making changes. But in the end, Azteca won out and now has the belt that promises a guaranteed title opportunity at THE Lucha Underground Championship. However, Azteca is putting a big challenge on himself, as he vows to retain this belt all the way to Ultima Lucha Quatro’s main event! The Moth Tribe’s own heiress wants that glory for herself, can she clip the young eagle’s wings before he ever takes flight?

Introductions are made and the belt is raised, but behind the referee’s back, Mari offers a handshake. Azteca takes it, but she kicks him in the balls! The referee is shocked, but the bell rings. Mari brings Azteca to a corner, and puts his leg on the second rope, to kick at the groin! The referee warns her not to get too close, but it’s too late for that. Azteca winces and writhes but Mari covers. TWO, but Mari keeps on him. She puts him in a corner but he turns it around. Azteca hits a discus clothesline, then runs in fro a big forearm. He slings her out and builds up speed for a shotgun dropkick! Cover, TWO! The Believers duel while Azteca brings Mari up. He runs, but into her Samoan Drop! Cover, TWO!

Mari grows frustrated with the ballsy Azteca, but she flaps her wings as she takes aim. She runs out, but he dodges her boot to give a boot! Azteca positions Mari, then climbs up as fans rally. He reaches the top rope, takes aim, for a 450 splash! Cover, TWO! Azteca can’t believe how close that was. He argues with the ref, but has to accept the call. Azteca drags Mari up by her pigtails, but she gets around, for a Vertabreaker! Cover, TWO!! Believers are loving this quick but intense match. Mari drags Azteca up, and tries for another. He spins out, wheelbarrow to victory roll, cross leg pin! Azteca wins!

Winner: El Dragon Azteca Jr, by pinfall; still Gift of the Gods Champion

The Eagle soars over the Moth and flies on towards the sun that is the Lucha Underground Championship! The Believers cheer him on, but can Azteca survive the gauntlet that is the remaining weeks until Ultima Lucha 4?

Atomicos Match: The Worldwide Underground VS The Reptile Tribe!

This faction warfare has escalated to a boiling point, and this is the blow-off! A deal was struck between the two leaders: If Johnny Mundo and his band of misfits win, the Queen of Snakes must grant him his heart’s desire; but if Kobra Moon and her brood of vipers win, Mundo must serve her the rest of his life. However, the Guru of Greatness and his Wera Loca Valkyrie went behind Kobra’s back by beheading Vibora, in the Reptile’s own lair! How can this be an Atomicos match when the Reptiles are without their Luchasaurus? What will Mundo’s wish be should his team win?

Kobra Moon speaks, knowing that Mundo was behind Vibora’s death. It was cold-blooded, but Kobra respects that. It further proves that he belongs with them! And Mundo surely thought this would give his team the advantage. But this Queen has many loyal subjects, and now we shall all meet her newest servant, “brought back from the dead with venom!” Witness the reborn, Jeremiah SNAKE!! Yes, Jeremiah Crane was buried alive in the Three Way to the Grave with Mil Muertes and Fenix. But now, he has comeback as Kobra Moon’s undead Death Machine! Does Worldwide Underground stand a chance now that they have to do things 4v4?

Mundo lets Kobra know he “digs” the last minute line-up change. He does the same thing, and tells Ricky that this is one job he’s not gonna do. The WWU needs someone they can trust to handle business. He has the night off, so why not go play with his doll or something. Ricky is a little hurt, but he accepts being benched. Mundo found himself someone he could count on, but Jack is too afraid of snakes. Mundo found someone who isn’t afraid but is also capable of cutting the heads off all these snakes. He introduces his new WWU member, Aerostar! Yes, the time-traveling, out-of-this-world luchador, as well as long-time friend and rival of Drago, joins the other side in hopes of freeing the firebreathing knight.

Lucha Underground returns from break and we finally begin this high-stakes 8-person tag. The WWU flanks the Reptiles on all sides, and the bell rings. Mundo gives the signal, and all eight luchadors crawl! Mundo goes after King Daga, Aero goes after Drago, the Darewolf against the zombie Crane, and of course, Wera Loca herself against The Snake Queen! Jeremiah throws PJ out but Taya throws Kobra. Kobra drags Taya out to join her but Taya tackles her in return. Aero has gotten Drago out of the way, so we truly start with Mundo and “Jeremiah Snake.” They brawl with furious forearms, but Snake knees low. Mundo reverses the whip to then hit the Flying Chuck! The brawl continues on the outside while Mundo slaps Snake with his headband. Mundo runs, but Snake pursues. They go back and forth with dodging and chasing, but Snake waits to lariat Mundo down!

Mundo rolls out, but Snake keeps on him from the apron with a boot! Aero gets in the ring and dropkicks Snake down. Aero then builds speed, to FLY onto everyone! The Believers are fired up, but Drago and Daga regroup in the ring. Drago builds speed and Daga gives him a boost, Drago corkscrews onto everyone! Taya has gotten away and dropkicks Daga out. Kobra slithers around while Taya climbs up top. Taya LEAPS and again everyone is bowled over. Kobra is the only one safe. She lurks while Mundo gets on the apron. He wants to take flight, but Snake returns to triangle dropkick at him. Mundo dodges, but a roundhouse rocks him. Kobra gets going, she uses Snake for the wheelbarrow boost to then bulldog Mundo onto everyone else! Snake goes out and drags Mundo up while The Believers lose their minds.

Snake brings Mundo around while the others brawl. He spits on his hand, tastes it again, then CHOPS Mundo in the chest. The brawl follows them and the Reptiles stack the WWU on chairs. Snake gets the fans fired up, and Kobra lets out a primal scream with him. Snake goes all the way around the ring, building up speed, to BOWL WWU OVER! It’s a perfect strike, and the Believers are thunderous! Kobra coordinates the team, and Daga puts Taya in the ring. Snake slithers over as she cowers against ropes. But the Believers give her courage, and the Crazy Blonde give a dirty bird to the undead Snake. So he bites it!! She slaps him off, then slaps him again. Taya rocks him with elbows, but runs into the boot! The teams finally go to their corners as Taya fights back.

Snake whips but she reverses into a German Suplex! Taya crawls for the WWU corner, hot tag to PJ Black! The Darewolf springboards onto Snake then blasts the Reptile’s corner. He runs back at Snake, dodges and runs him over. He rallies with shoulders, handsprings and arm-drags Snake down. PJ sweeps the legs, double stomps the back, then double flexes. He bucks Snake off the waistlock to rock him with a heel kick! Cover, but Drago breaks it. PJ tags out to Mundo, and they both attack Drago. Double whip and elbows to snapmare. They run and give a boot sandwich to Drago, then bow and high-five. Snake returns, they double whip him. Snake dropkicks them down, then fires up. He fireman’s carry on Mundo but Mundo shoves him into Kobra! Mundo calf kicks Snake down, then springboards to kick Daga down.

The Believers fire up as Mundo brings Snake up. Moonlight Drive hits, but he’s not done there. He brings Snake up, but Snake rakes his eyes! Snake tags to Drago, who then tags to Kobra, and Snake helps rocket launch Kobra at Mundo! Mundo catches her, but Drago and Snake come in to kick Mundo down! But Mundo rolls through, still holding on to Kobra! They SUPERKICK him now, and they ALL cover, TWO!! Mundo sits up to fight back on all three Reptiles! He fires off with haymakers and forearms, then runs, into a TRIPLE Boot! Drago runs, tilt-o-whirl DDT! Cover, but the WWU break it up. PJ and Taya throw Snake and Kobra out, then join them for another brawl.

Daga returns, but so does Aero. While the King helps his Queen, the astronaut luchador goes to his friend. Aero wants Drago to see this, as he springboard corkscrews onto the cluster! They all go down, leaving the knight from Infra Mundo alone with Johnny Mundo. Mundo hits first, but Drago slips out of Moonlight Drive to SUPERKICK. Dragon runs into a super punch, but gives one back. They run, Drago springboards, Dragon’s Lair but Mundo slips out for a Shining Wizard! Mundo has Drago down, Fin Del Mundo! Cover, WWU wins!

Winners: The Worldwide Underground, Johnny Mundo by pinfall

Mundo has won for his team, and wins a wish to be granted by Kobra Moon. Before Kobra can slither away, he brings up their deal. Mundo knows a certain someone could use a wish, too. Taya thinks he means her, but he actually means “the man who stepped up tonight” for his team. His wish is for Aerostar to get his wish. Kobra, you MUST free Drago! Kobra wants anything but that, but a deal is a deal. Taya herself is shocked, but “a deal is a deal”! “Set Him Free! Set Him Free!” Drago is confused, but Aero is thankful that Mundo gave him his friend back. Aero unlocks the collar around Drago’s neck, and leads him away. Will it be an easy road back from Kobra’s brainwashing?

However, Taya wants an explanation. How could Johnny be such an idiot? He chose to help Aerostar? This was for nothing now! Taya is almost in tears, but Mundo explains back. Kobra could not grant Mundo’s wish. Only Taya can. What? Mundo has PJ step up, and PJ makes sure he still has it. Oh it was down his pants. But is that…? Yes! It’s a ring! An engagement ring! The Believers give a standing ovation as Mundo kneels. “Taya, will you marry me?” What will Ms. Eliza– er, Taya, say to Macho Mundo? The Believers hope it’s “SI! SI!” Taya is again in tears, but for a good reason now. She says yes!! Ooooh Yeeeah~! Mundo slips the ring on Taya’s finger, and it’s official with a kiss. This is a happy ending for all! Who’s ready to RSVP to the wedding of the future Mr. & Mrs. Slam Town?

But meanwhile, backstage…

Ricky tells Rosa he has a wish, too. “That Taya and Johnny are together until death do them part.” Rosa likes the sound of that. What wicked wedding gift does Ricky have planned for them?

My Thoughts:

A great little episode of Lucha Underground right here, with lots of nice twists and turns for the fun of the entire audience. The story of the Rabbit Tribe takes an even darker turn as London seems to be corrupted by THE White Rabbit’s blood lust. No more Mala Suerte, but does that mean White Rabbit and his caged up dark Mascarita will be joining the fight? The tag team match was another dark development for Jack Evans and XO Lishus. XO has been the fun-loving Face but I wonder if he’d come back slightly more aggressive. Dragon Azteca and Mariposa do great in their match, for how short it felt. I’m still waiting for Azteca’s self-imposed challenge runs into the Sacrifice to the Gods streak to see which one ends first. Until then, Azteca should face everyone possible to really build himself up.

Then all that stuff in the Atomicos was great. The surprises were nice, but Lucha Underground upped how cheesy they are with zombie Crane. Though, it was actually great, because Sami Callihan’s too great to give up. And I kinda hope this counts as a Face Turn for the WWU outside of Jack and Ricky. Not only does Mundo do the right thing in freeing Drago, Mundo and Taya have made such a great couple since first being in Lucha Underground together, and the fans really got behind that marriage proposal moment. But as always in pro-wrestling, I expect the Reptiles to want revenge during the wedding.

My Score: 8/10

PLAY BY PLAY

The Worldwide Underground prepare for tonight.

Namely, Johnny Mundo air guitars with his new Gauntlet of the Gods. “This thing is gonna look so sweet mounted on the wall of my dojo.” If he ever takes it off. And Taya reminds him it’s their dojo now. Right, of course. But it’ll look even better with the blood of Matanza on it. Mundo wants to give it another test run, and the power courses through his body. Taya will be there just in case, right? She wouldn’t miss it for the mundo. Clever. But if Mundo fails, never to be seen again, just know he loves you, Taya. “I love you, too.” Rosa…? “You’re so pretty.” Thanks? But she doesn’t have a string… Rosa knows Taya is the Perfect Woman. And the perfect host! Rosa is going to possess Taya?!

Best 2 out of 3 Falls: El Dragon Azteca Jr. VS Fenix!

The Heir of the Eagle Tribe is a friend to Melissa Santos, but Melissa’s heart belongs to Fenix. However, Fenix’s soul is left tainted with darkness after Aerostar used Catrina’s stone to resurrect him. Can Azteca help bring back Fenix’s humanity? Or will the darkness only grow stronger?

Lucha Underground returns as the bell rings. Fenix glares at Melissa, but then rushes Azteca. Azteca dodges and kicks but Fenix dodges to CHOPS! Azteca chops back and it’s a chop fight! Fenix back hands but Azteca kicks, kicks and enziguris! Then he slides under, for another enziguri! Azteca runs, but Fenix somersaults for a cutter! Fans fire up as Fenix brings Azteca into a waistlock. Azteca blocks and fights out, Fenix shoves him. Azteca mule kicks Fenix, then hops up, but Fenix kicks out his legs! Fenix has Azteca hung up on the second rope, and shovels him onto his shoulders. Electric chair spin, but Azteca tries a huricanrana. Fenix blocks that and brings Azteca back up, but Azteca makes it a Code Red! Cover, TWO!

Azteca dropkicks Fenix down, Fenix bails out. Fans rally, Azteca springboards and FLIES! He wipes Fenix out but Believers fire up. Azteca puts Fenix back in the ring, then climbs up top. Fans duel as Azteca leaps! Fenix rolls out of the way so Azteca rolls through his 450. Fenix boots Azteca to a corner, then runs corner to corner, into a boot! Azteca hops up but gets a SHORYUKEN! Fenix brings Azteca out, spinning muscle buster! Cover, Fenix gets the first fall!

Azteca: 0 – Fenix: 1

The Black Bird takes the lead, but his eyes lock back on Melissa. Fenix goes to a corner, the second fall begins when we return from break!

Lucha Underground returns, and Fenix is bringing in chairs! Azteca is vulnerable as Fenix wedges a chair in a corner. Fenix goes back out, to bring out a table! Azteca stirs as fans rally up. Fenix sets the table up on the outside, then he fetches Azteca. Fenix brings Azteca up in a waistlock, for a German Suplex! No cover as Fenix drags Azteca by his mask over to the corner with the chair. Fenix runs in, but Azteca dodges. Azteca runs in for a clothesline, then rolls and comes back for a forearm. He rolls Fenix, slides and calf kicks FEnix down! Cover, TWO! Fans rally up for Azteca as he and Fenix grind foreheads. Fenix shoves but Azteca moves to hit the DDTJ! Cover, Azteca gets the second fall!

Azteca: 1 – Fenix: 1

Things are all tied up super fast, and now we can go into the final fall! But Antonio Cueto decides to come out at this point. “Papa Cueto” says that this match has already been quite a show. But now we need to take it to the next level! “After all, this is Ultima Lucha.” Therefore, this final fall shall be… Falls Count Anywhere! The stakes are raised, as is that chair by Fenix! He SMACKS Azteca in the head! The Believers are thunderous for this final round, but we go to break!

Lucha Underground returns again, and Fenix clubs Azteca down. He pushes Azteca out, and he “borrows’ chairs from Believers. Fenix makes a pile of wood then puts Azteca back in the ring. He brings Azteca to that side of the ring where the table is, and goes for a suplex. Azteca holds on for dear life, then kicks Feniz off the apron! Fenix’s face bounces off the table! Fans fire up as Azteca goes out to fetch Fenix. Azteca brings out steel chairs, and THROWS one at Fenix’s face! They go around the corner and Azteca throws Fenix into the announce desk! Azteca has the Believers on his side as he brings out yet another table. The only one not really enjoying this fight is Melissa, as it is friend and lover fighting it out.

Fenix hits Azteca, they brawl, Fenix gets a German Suplex! Bridging cover, TWO! Azteca survives, so Fenix brings out a third table. And then a fourth! Fenix arranges these tables in the ring and Believers like that. Fenix runs in but Azteca dodges to send him into the post. Azteca kicks Fenix from the post, then springboard missile dropkicks! Believers rally up as Azteca takes care of the tables in the ring. He fetches Fenix on the outside but Fenix hits him. They have another chop fight back and forth, fast and furious! Azteca gets another DDTJ, to the floor!! But Azteca can’t make a cover, so he goes for that original table.

Azteca goes up to the bleachers, but Fenix follows. Fenix goes after Azteca at the rails as fans beg “Please Don’t Die!” The two brawl while trying to throw the other over. Both men stand, Azteca SUPER STEINERS! Fenix clips the table and fans lose their minds! Cover, TWO!! Fenix lives, so Azteca puts him in the ring. Azteca hits Fenix away but slingshots into a SHORYUKEN! Fenix goes out to fetch Azteca, and they go to the second table. Fenix reels Azteca out for forearms, then puts him on the wood. Fans duel as Fenix climbs up. Melissa can barely watch as Fenix SUPER SWANTONS! The table doesn’t break, but maybe one of the two luchadores did… Believers know “This is Awesome!” as Fenix drags Azteca around the corner.

Fenix CHOPS Azteca then puts him on the apron. He tucks Azteca for a muscle buster but Azteca gets out to boot back. Azteca then climbs, but Fenix follows. Fenix stops Azteca up top, then joins him, and Melissa begs someone else do something to stop them. Azteca fights Fenix off, turns things around, then throws hands. He hits a SUPER Victory Roll Bomb, through a table!! Cover, TWO!? Fenix survives and Melissa is physically ill. Believers are losing their minds again as Azteca throws in more chairs. Azteca is armed with steel, and Believers rally up. He aims at Fenix, but Melissa tells him no! They’re friends, aren’t they? She says this isn’t Fenix’s fault, he’s not himself. But then Fenix SMACKS Azteca! And he scares Melissa off!

Fenix aims at Azteca, and SPEARS him through the third table!! Believers lose their minds again as Melissa begs for this to stop. Fenix sits Azteca on the top rope for a CHOP! Then, another Black Bird muscle buster! Cover, Fenix wins!

Winner: Fenix, by pinfall, wins 2-1

Melissa may have just cost Azteca the win, and Fenix his soul. Will the Dark Flame rise and take over the Temple?

Antonio Cueto is ringside again.

“Love makes you do strange things, huh?” Melissa refuses to be out here after what just happened between Fenix and Azteca, but luckily Antonio has been in “intense negotiations” as of late. And as of just earlier tonight, Antonio has made a blockbuster deal with an incredible talent! This person is lucha royalty! Antonio introduces the guest ring announcer for the rest of Ultima Lucha, Shaul Guerrero! A major get from the family of lucha libre! Shaul picks up the mic, and is honored to be here. But it’s time to get the action going again! She makes the introductions for this following–

Wait, Famous B comes out? He’s introducing himself as the one true guest ring announcer of The Temple. Fans disagree, and tell B to “Git!” But Famous B ignores them to head into the ring. He brushes Shaul aside, staking his claim as the only guest ring announcer. And he tells her to git! Well, before that, take his card, maybe give him a call. He has no idea who she is nor who her family is, so maybe if she wants to be famous– “Excuse~ me!” Just like mama! Shaul doesn’t know who Famous B is, but she’s gonna straighten him out.

The Guerrero family IS lucha libre! From Gory to Mondo to Hector to Chavo to Chavo Jr, to Mama Vickie and yes, Papa Eddie! Guerreros are lucha libre, but also warriors that “would kick your ass before you even know what hit you, Famous Bitch!” Sick burn, and she throws his card back at him. Famous B is angry as the fans echo Shaul. He figures if she’s too stupid to leave, then he’ll make her! The jacket comes off, but Believers chant “Kick his ass!” But wait, here comes Uncle Chavo! He scares Famous B, Shaul pokes B’s eyes then kicks him for a snap suplex. That’s one amiga! Then a second amiga! Then yes, the THIRD! And to do the honors for the entire Guerrero family, Chavo climbs, and hits the frog splash! They throw Famous B out, and now he can “Git! Git!”

Death Match: The Mack VS Mil Muertes!

Death comes for us all, but the Man of 1000 Deaths embraces the darkness. The urban underdog lost his cousin, Big Ryck, to Muertes’ wrath, but can he outrun the reaper and succeed on Lucha Underground’s biggest night?

Muertes brings a coffin with him, telling Mack now what to expect by the end of this. The bell rings, and Muertes rushes Mack. Mack dodges and throws big haymakers! Muertes pushes Mack back and puts him in the corner to throw heavy hands. Muertes whips corner to corner but runs into a boot. He blocks Mack’s next boot and reels Mack in for a lariat! Muertes drags Mack up as fans duel. He headbutts Mack and whips again, but Mack comes back with a flying enziguri! Muertes staggers but Mack runs in to clothesline him out. Muertes lands on his feet by his coffin, but Mack builds speed to FLY! Mack bowls Muertes over! Believers fire up as Mack says a prayer of thanks. Mack gets Muertes up and rocks him with more haymakers. Muertes hits back, and then bounces Mack’s face off the casket lid.

Muertes moves the casket aside and brings Mack up onto the apron. They brawl with haymakers and forearms while fans duel. Muertes kicks low and gives Mack a DDT to the apron! Believers are stunned silent a moment, but then rally back up. Muertes drags out a second casket?! Well, actually it makes a lot of sense given who Muertes is. Mack hits Muertes and they brawl again by the second coffin. Muertes bounces Mack off the lid again, then drags Mack up on top, for a facebuster! Mack’s head dents the casket! Muertes puts Mack in the ring and stands him up in a corner. Muertes fires off those close-range clothesline! He gets nine, and backs up as fans build the tension. Muertes runs in, but Mack drop toeholds him into buckles!

Mack goes side to side for the forearm smash, then the other way for the boot! Mack gives Muertes a back2back backbreaker! Muertes is down and Mack goes to the far side, to run back in for a cannonball! Fans fire up as Mack has a wild look in his eyes. He drags Muertes to a cover, TWO! Fans duel again as Mack decides to open up Muertes’ first coffin. Behold! An arsenal of brutal weapons! Mack goes for the tools, the kendo stick, the chain, and more, putting them in the ring. But then Muertes DIVES and tackles Mack into the coffin! Fans lose their minds all over again as Muertes stands up. Muertes drags the coffin up, and narrowly avoids the lid biting his fingers off, to go back for the rest of the items: a hatchet, a brick, and a meat hook!

Muertes puts Mack in the ring and brings in the lumberjack ax! This is becoming a horror movie as Muertes drags the ax around. Mack stands, but blocks the ax swing just in time! Mack kicks and gets the ax, but Muertes ducks the swing to give Mack an uppercut! Then the SPEAR! The Devil’s Trident knocks Mack down, but Muertes looks to use even worse on Mack. Muertes picks up the ice pick, and stands Mack up to JAB him in the head! Fans cringe as Muertes makes Mack bleed with more jabs of the steel spike. The referee gets squeamish but Muertes forces him to stay. Muertes brings Mack up and whips. Mack reverses and hits a windmill kick! Both men are down, and Mack has a crimson mask of blood. Mack grabs the chain, and shouts “Kunta Kinte 3000!” before giving Muertes a steel chain punch!

Muertes goes down but rolls to a corner. Mack goes out of the ring to bring in a trash can. Mack returns into the ring and fans rally up. He has the can and places it in front of Muertes. Mack hurries to the other corner, and fans chant it out, Mack leaps for the Coast2Coast! Direct hit on the “Mackinator”! Cover, TWO!! Muertes survives, but Mack still has more to give. He brings Muertes up, but Muertes gets him in a choke grip! And the choke slam! The fans duel as both men crawl to corners. Mack drags himself up, but Muertes runs in. Mack dodges and sends Muertes to the post! Muertes tumbles out and Mack pursues. Mack tears at the black mask of death to add insult to injury! Mack grabs himself a kendo stick, and SMACKS Muertes in the head!

Both men stagger and Mack throws Muertes back in. Muertes stands, and realizes he is dripping blood himself now. Mack runs and hits a jumping DDT! Cover, TWO! Muertes survives but Believers know “This is Awesome!” Mack keeps going because there’s still blood to spill. He swings on Muertes but Muertes spins him around for a BIG lariat! Cover, TWO!! It was so close, but Mack survives. Muertes gets up as fans chant “Lucha! Lucha!” Muertes runs at Mack for a crucifix takedown, but Mack makes it a Samoan Drop, albeit sloppy. Mack kips up and fans fire up! He hits a moonsault! Cover, TWO! Mack is shocked, but his blood helps him focus. He runs, but into the powerslam! Cover, TWO!! Another close call but this match isn’t over yet.

Muertes grows furious but Mack grows confident. Mack throws forearms, but ends up in a Flat Liner!! Muertes crawls to a cover, TWO!? Mack lives?! The look of shock is clear through Muertes’ masks of crimson blood and black leather. Muertes goes after Mack and wants another, but Mack elbows out of the Flat Liner. And elbows, and elbows, and elbows! But then he turns around into the choke grip! Muertes lifts, Mack hits the stunner! Muertes staggers, so Mack hits him with another! But Muertes still hasn’t fallen, so Mack gets that brick. This brick is for Ryck! Then the double dirty birds as Mack tells Muertes to “Go to Hell, you mutha f*cka!” STUNNER!! Cover, Mack WINS!!

Winner: The Mack, by pinfall

Death has been conquered!! Muertes is no longer undefeated at Ultima Lucha, and Mack decides to put the last nail in the coffin. He drags Muertes over to the coffin, and as Believers chant “Put Him In!”, Mack rolls Muertes into his own prop. And to cap it all off, Mack gets some beers, to pour out one for the homeys. And finally, he closes the lid. Does this incredible win mean big things for The Mack next season? Or will death rise again?

Sacrifice to the Gods Match: Matanza Cueto VS Johnny Mundo!

The first sacrifice was the last remaining shred of humanity within the vessel of Antonio Cueto’s last living son. From there, the Monster God of the Temple would dispatch of the dead weight in the locker room. However, he would be unleashed by a psychotic Ricky Mantel Mundo to ruin the Worldwide Underground’s wedding night. The Guru of Greatness was not able to seek revenge himself for a time, thus leaving his friends, Joey Wrestling and Jack Evans, to be preyed upon by the Cuetos. Taya was almost sacrificed if not for the heroic return of Johnny himself! However, knowing Mundo is mortal, the Super Amigos, Drago and Aerostar, felt this was the time to grant someone the power of the Gauntlet of the Gods! Can Mundo use his power-up to take Matanza to #SlamTown? Or will he sadly be the latest and greatest Sacrifice to the Gods?

Antonio hurries out to ringside, having recognized that gauntlet. He shouts that the gauntlet is not Mundo’s to have! It doesn’t matter where he got that gauntlet, but he won’t have it for much longer, as he’ll just end up in a puddle of his own blood on the Aztec seal in the ring! And Matanza now makes his entrance, in new ceremonial, and frightening, garb. Believers already lose their minds seeing this terrifying transformation, but the true terror will begin after the break.

Lucha Underground returns and the bell rings. Mundo and Matanza each sport new gear, and Mundo eggs Matanza on. Matanza runs in, and Mundo gets him with a choke grip! Mundo powers Matanza to his knees! Then throws him backwards! Fans fire up, and Mundo grins with the new found power. Mundo runs in but Matanza avoids the Superman Punch. Mundo still feels great, and swings another punch at Matanza. Matanza avoids it, and goes after the gauntlet itself! Matanza and Mundo struggle, and the gauntlet flies off! It ends up at the stairs, and now Mundo is without his equalizer. Mundo still throws hands, but they do nothing. Matanza hits back but Mundo gives a kick and forearm. Mundo whips but Matanza reverses, but Mundo slides under. Mundo scrambles but Matanza drags him back in. Matanza throws Mundo but Mundo lands on his feet!

Mundo keeps moving, but runs into a pop-up SPINEBUSTER! Matanza looms over Mundo as fans rally up. Matanza drags Mundo up for a torture rack. Running rack Samoan Drop! Then a deadlift German Suplex! Matanza looms over Mundo, and drags him back up, for the fisherman back suplex! Bridge cover, TWO!! Mundo narrowly escapes, but Matanza is still on him. Matanza brings Mundo up to whip, and scoops for Wrath of the Gods, but Mundo counters with a crucifix! Roll through, but Mundo roundhouses and SUPERKICKS! Mundo kicks more, then hits Moonlight Drive! Antonio watches as Mundo drags Matanza to a drop zone. Mundo drags himself up, split leg for the Fin del Mundo! Cover, TWO!! Matanza survives, not even the end of the world can kill a god.

Believers rally up, and Mundo hurries out of the ring. He still wants the gauntlet, but Matanza gets him at the apron! And lifts him right up to the top rope, for a SUPER GERMAN SUPLEX!! Believers lose their minds again as Matanza sits up. The Monster is, for the first time, feeling fatigue. But oh no, Matanza wants the Gauntlet of the Gods?! But knowing Mundo is still near, Matanza leaves the gauntlet alone to go after his prey. Mundo goes under the ring, and Matanza goes looking for the sly Sultan of Sexy. Mundo pops out on the other end, but ducks back in before Matanza can get him. Matanza goes looking under the ring, but Mundo has made it to the stairs! And he gets the gauntlet back! Mundo hurries to put it back on, but Matanza runs him over! Now the gauntlet is on the bleachers.

Matanza moves up the bleachers and fans move aside. Matanza has the Gauntlet, but tosses it up WAY into the rafters?! Mundo hurries to climb up, but Matanza yanks him off the ladder. Mundo fights him off, then hurries up the stairs! Matanza pursues and drags Mundo down. Mundo ducks the punch to SUPERKICK! But Matanza isn’t bothered. Mundo leads Matanza on a chase, and finds a back way up to the top level. Matanza cuts him off at the stairs, but Mundo keeps going up. Mundo flips Matanza off to egg him on. There’s a large gap between where Mundo is above the band, and where Matanza tossed the gauntlet. But Mundo trusts his parkour training, and hops from roof to fuse box to ledge! But Matanza yanks him off, to throw him into the wall!

Believers rally up, they still have faith in Mundo. But Matanza lifts Mundo, and goes to bomb him over rails! Mundo fights off, and gets up to the ledge! Matanza hurries up with a ladder but fans know “This is Awesome!” Mundo crawls to where the gauntlet is, but still has no time to put it on. Matanza grabs him around the throat! And choke slams Mundo through the floor! Mundo goes through wood and is now in the Modelo freezer! Believers lose their minds all over again, and Matanza seems to have won. Antonio directs Matanza back to the ring, and that is where the Monster heads, chair in hand. But wait! The doors open, and Mundo stands! He has the gauntlet on! Mundo has the POWER! And he punches the chair out of Matanza’s hands!

The two head back down the stairs and to the ring. Mundo and his power seems to scare Matanza now! Mundo throws a punch, Matanza dodges, and Mundo hits post! But it doesn’t hurt at all. Mundo swings but Matanza dodges again, Matanza’s running scared! Matanza cowers by the stairs, Mundo uses the apron as a springboard for a Superman Punch into the ground! But Matanza narrowly gets away, and into the ring. Mundo follows Matanza into the ring, and Believers are thunderous. Mundo leaps, but into Matanza’s arms! WRATH OF THE GODS!! Cover, TWO!?! Mundo survives the Wrath of the Gods?! Even Mundo is surprised at how powerful he’s becoming. He gives Matanza a BIG gut punch, then a BIG haymaker. Matanza is staggered, SUPERMAN PUNCH takes him down! And then, as Mundo stares at Antonio, he climbs up top and flips Antonio off.

Antonio is furious as Mundo aims at Matanza. FLYING SUPERMAN PUNCH!! Matanza is down, Mundo turns him over for a cover, Mundo wins!!

Winner: Johnny Mundo, by pinfall

The modern day mix of Adonis and Hercules, Mundo conquers the Monster God! The Gauntlet has given him the power and the glory, but will it give Mundo the world?

Johnny Mundo walks backstage.

The Guru of Greatness feels great with the Gauntlet of the Gods on his arm, but then Aerostar appears and surprises him. Mundo asks if he’s seen Taya, but Aerostar is more concerned with the debt having been paid. Yeah, but Mundo would like to hold onto the gauntlet for a little while longer. Aerostar says that the power Mundo feels is not enhancing him, but destroying him. Mundo thinks Aerostar is just saying that to get the gauntlet back. Aerostar says Mundo only won thanks to the gauntlet. But if he wears it any longer, he’ll be nothing but a shell, as another god inhabits his body.

Mundo feels that power surging, but admits that no one gets to have his perfect body but himself. Aerostar asks for the gauntlet back, and Mundo takes it off. He gives it back to Aerostar, and Aerostar says Mundo’s a good man. Mundo says he’s not. But for now, he’ll go “celebrate” with Taya. Mundo managed to fight off such addictive power, but will there be a nasty surprise waiting for him in the locker room?

Lucha Underground Championship Cero Miedo Match: Marty “The Moth” Martinez VS Pentagon Dark!

The beginning of Marty’s reign has been controversial to say the least. First, the “Creepy Bastard” paid his way into a Gift of the Gods Championship match, and took advantage of a beaten down El Dragon Azteca Jr. Then he paid Antonio Cueto to make it an instant cash-in! And with the help of his Black Widow girlfriend, he took the title from Pentagon after Pentagon had been through a Triple Threat against Mil Muertes and King Cuerno. However, Marty’s the only man crazy enough to think he can beat the Bone Collector at his own game. Will Marty prove there’s a method to his madness? Or will Pentagon again prove that he is the only one truly with #CeroMiedo?

Weapons are already set up, and Believers are thunderous for Pentagon the moment he makes his entrance. And in the complete opposite, the fans rain down boos as Marty makes his way down the stairs. This fight without any rules but to win will begin, after the break.

Lucha Underground returns with the bell, and with Pentagon tossing a chair into Marty’s face! Pentagon goes out to fetch Marty, and bowls him into chairs! Fans are still cheering as Pentagon brings Marty over and around to kick him in the leg. Marty scurries away but Pentagon kicks him again. Pentagon throws Marty into a post, and the champion is busted open! Pentagon tosses items into the ring, such as a trash can full of other items. Fans chant “SI! SI!” as Marty grimaces through his own blood. Pentagon SMACKS Marty with a trash can! The brawl in front of the announce desk, and Pentagon CHOPS and CHOPS Marty. But Marty grins and laughs?! Pentagon kicks Marty in the leg, then bowls him through more chairs!

Pentagon keeps on Marty with stomps and haymakers. He whips Marty at the propped up table, but Marty stops himself. Pentagon runs in but Marty goes to hip toss, only for Pentagon to stop himself. Pentagon hits back, then SUPERKICKS Marty! Marty staggers, but ducks to then hip toss Pentagon through the propped up table! Believers lose their minds once again as Marty enjoys his own crimson mask. Marty stomps Pentagon, then rains down rights. Marty picks up a kendo stick and SMACKS Pentagon! And SMACKS! Pentagon gets into the ring, but Marty has his #AztecPride lunch box. He hasn’t brought this with him in a long time. Marty goes after Pentagon’s mask with bloody fingers! He tears away, but Pentagon resists, so Marty clubs him down.

Marty picks up the lunch box, his blood dripping all over. Marty opens it up, and turns out there’s some leftover beef jerky in there. He snacks on that while digging out what he’s really after: the fork! The same fork he used on Fenix, back when Fenix had a soul and when they were fighting over Melissa Santos. Believers chant “Fork you! Fork you!” as Marty brings the four-pronged weapon over. Just as he did to Fenix, Marty digs into Pentagon’s forehead with the metal silverware! Believers boo, jeer, and some even cringe. Marty tosses the fork aside, and drags Pentagon out of the ring. Marty drops a fist from the apron, then goes back under the ring for plenty of steel chairs. Fans rally for Pentagon, but Marty starts burying Pentagon under chairs. Marty did this to his own sister, Mariposa, not too long ago.

Marty throws chair after chair onto Pentagon, and then SMACKS the entire pile with other chairs. Pentagon manages to get out of the chair pile, and uses one to SMACK Marty in the head! Then Pentagon leaps for a Destroyer to the floor!! Believers lose their minds for about the eighth time tonight while Pentagon puts Marty in the ring. Cover, TWO! The blood continues to flow as this match continues on. Pentagon goes to the trash can, dented and broken as it is, and puts it aside. Marty kicks Pentagon low! There are no rules so that low blow is legal. Marty then hoists Pentagon onto the top rope. He clubs away, then grabs that trash can to put on Pentagon.

Pentagon is in a Tree of Woe with that can around him, and now Marty grabs the barbed wire bat. Marty goes over and swings for the fences on Pentagon! Once, twice, three times, so many times until the trash can splits open! Fans rally up again as Marty digs around under the ring for a can of gasoline! Marty teased doing this before Ultima Lucha, and now he looks to make good on the threat. Marty picks up the bat to hit Pentagon again, then starts pouring on the gas. Pentagon is gasping for air, and Marty pulls out the lighter! Believers love brutality but they don’t want this. Marty holds the lighter up, but Pentagon kicks it away! Marty SUPERKICKS Pentagon then clubs and stomps away as he shouts “Die, Pentagon!”

Believers shout as loud as they can as Marty grabs the bat again. Marty looks to hit another homer, but Pentagon dodges! The bat hits the ropes and comes back to hit Marty! Marty staggers, but grits his teeth and runs at Pentagon. Pentagon hip tosses Marty out and through a table!! Marty is down on the outside while Pentagon is down on the inside. Believers again lose their minds, but then rally behind “Cero Miedo!” with Pentagon. Pentagon gets Marty up and around for a BIG kick. They keep going, and Pentagon aims for the glass! Marty reverses, but Pentagon stops him. Pentagon SUPERKICKS Marty, and throws him through the glass!! Not even Matt Striker can keep from shouting “HOLY SH*T!” The Believers make it an even ten for losing their minds.

Pentagon drags Marty up and around and back into the ring. Marty now bleeds from face and arms, but Pentagon isn’t done with him. Pentagon puts chairs in, and starts setting them up. Fans sing “Ole~! Ole ole ole~! Cero~, Miedo~!” Pentagon brings Marty up onto the half dozen chairs, tucks him in, PACKAGE PILEDRIVER through chairs!! Cover, Pentagon WINS!!

Winner: Pentagon Dark, by pinfall; NEW Lucha Underground Champion

The match is done, the belt returns to its former master, but the carnage is far from over. Pentagon drags Marty into place, but here comes Reclusa! The Black Widow won’t let her man lose an arm along with the gold. But Vampiro has had enough, and gets in the ring. He protects his former protege as he runs off Reclusa and Marty. Vampiro holds the belt and fans again sing “Ole~! Ole ole ole~! Cero~, Miedo~!” Pentagon stands as our first-ever two-time Lucha Underground Champion and the Believers couldn’t be happier for him. Vampiro holds the belt out to Pentagon with respect, and Pentagon takes it. The Bone Collector has come full circle, but the former mentor isn’t happy about it, as he kicks Pentagon in the balls!

But Pentagon doesn’t go down so easy, he kicks Vampiro in the balls, too! The two men from the original Cero Miedo match brawl in the aftermath of this one! They kick and punch each other, but then Vampiro whips Pentagon. pentagon reverses and hits a corner clothesline! Pentagon fires off, but who is this in the skull mask? They SMACK Pentagon with a chair! He takes off that mask to reveal a very similar mask to Pentagon’s own. Vampiro gets a mic, and introduces everyone to his master?! Vampiro throws Pentagon out for The Master, as he climbs up high. Pentagon staggers, as The Master hits a crazy Shooting Star off the camera deck! Believers are confused as Vampiro puts Pentagon back in, for a Crimson Arrow! Just who is this new luchador?

But wait, The Savage, Jake Strong appears! He is the newest Gift of the Gods Champion, and we know now that the title is instant cash-in… Strong tells Pentagon that he can cash in whenever he wants. “Do you hear me?! Whenever I want!” That voice change wasn’t just a trick of the mic… And yes, he’s cashing in!!

Lucha Underground Championship, Gift of the Gods Cash-In Match: Pentagon Dark VS Jake Strong!

The Savage shows no mercy as he picks the bones of the bloodied and battered Bone Collector. And speaking of bones, Strong puts the Ankle Lock on immediately! Fans don’t want this, but they can’t do a thing as Strong snaps Pentagon’s ankle! Pentagon doesn’t tap, but he does pass out. The boos rain down as the match is over!

Winner: Jake Strong, by submission; NEW Lucha Underground Champion

Believers call “Bullsh*t!” but Strong has taken advantage of the new and corrupt system in The Temple. The Savage Era begins as the season ends, where will everything go from here?!

In an undisclosed location…

Aerostar, King Cuerno, and El Dragon Azteca Jr. meet, the Gauntlet of the Gods still in the hands of the Man of Time and Space. Cuerno says the gauntlet is too dangerous, so it must be sent back into hiding. Azteca says Matanza has already grown too strong, but after what Mundo did, they can use the gauntlet to strike The Monster down for good. Aerostar breaks the tie by telling Azteca, “Make it quick.” Azteca says, “She plans to.” And just below them, Matanza Cueto paces. But she walks in, armed with the gauntlets. Now she knows the truth: El Dragon Azteca Primero didn’t kill her parents, but Matanza did! It’s BLACK LOTUS! She’s armed with the Gauntlet, and will finally have her revenge!

Matanza runs in, but into a flurry of strikes! Fiver finger death palm! The Monster’s heart is crushed, and Matanza Cueto is dead. Azteca Jr. says that her parents can finally rest in peace. And so can his master. Lotus returns the gauntlet, but then Strong finds Azteca! Strong attacks quick, and says the gauntlet isn’t Azteca’s to have. Strong breaks Azteca’s ankle, and takes the gauntlet! The Gauntlet belongs “to US!” The Savage now has the gauntlet AND the title! Will he soon have everything in his possession?

Meanwhile…

Johnny Mundo finally meets up with Taya. Did she see? Babe? She okay? Why wasn’t she in his corner? Okay, he gets it, she wanted him to prove he could do it himself. And he did! Revenge is theirs, but how about that honeymoon? Huh, Mrs. Mundo? “Sorry, Johnny. I’m not your wife.” ROSA HAS CONTROL!! And she uses Taya’s body to beat up Mundo with one hand! “I am a god.” What is the fate of the Guru of Greatness?!

And elsewhere…

Everything is coming together. “Just as prophesied.” Agent Winter, Antonio Cueto, Vampiro’s Master, they all sit in the limousine together, fully aware that more Aztec gods have taken human form while the Lucha Underground Championship is back under their control. Now on to destroying the Seven Aztec Tribes! Savage joins this dark council meeting, and everyone takes note of the blood on his shirt and on the gauntlet. Sorry to say, it’s Matanza’s blood. But Matanza was a worthy host, “and The Order will never forget his sacrifice.” But now, they need a new host. So says Lord WADE BARRETT!! “Does anyone else have any bad news?” No? Then time to take over the world!

Flashback to one year ago!

When Antonio took Matanza’s key from Dario, Aerostar popped in later, to give HIM the Amulet of Life!! “Come with me.” Dario was alive again, and sprang up in the coffin. “What the f–”

TO BE CONTINUED!!

My Thoughts:

This was an INSANE finale! And hopefully not a series finale, either. That 2 outta 3 Falls could’ve been better, as that second fall was really quick. However, Fenix winning makes some sense, as they might not be done exploring his darker turn. The Death Match was pretty great, and Mack winning makes sense because he’s been building great momentum as this underdog fan favorite for years. Holy crap Taya is now Rosa in human form, and though Mundo uses the Gauntlet of the Gods to defeat Matanza in epic fashion, it looks like she might’ve killed him. Maybe he should’ve have given the gauntlet up after all, and then there’d be an epic battle of demigods backstage. But oh well, Mundo is busy in Impact so maybe he won’t be around for Season 5.

That Cero Miedo match was the most insane part of this, and man that was a lot of blood. I thought Reclusa would show up sooner, but I guess it didn’t matter when the real screw job was Vampiro and “The Master” beat up Pentagon to leave him for dead and so that Jake Strong could cash in. I had a feeling Strong was going to cash in regardless of the other twists, but this makes him seem even more of a vulture. Of course, now that we know he’s been working with everyone else in this “Order”, it makes sense. I was really shocked to see Black Lotus return to wreck Matanza and kill his character off, but Jeff Cobb being in both NJPW and ROH now must have something to do with it.

Then the twists kept coming at the end as The Order gets the title, the gauntlet and we finally see their leader’s face! PLUS Dario is back from the dead. That’ll get awkward if father and son meet again, since they’re the same actor, though… I have no idea where the story goes from here but it’s fitting to be an epic battle from here on out.

My Score: 8.9/10

Captain Vasquez goes over files in LAPD Headquarters.

But in walks Aerostar, telling a story of a girl he met a millennia ago, who was going to save the world. He told her dying father to use a special amulet to give her immortality. He holds half of that amulet. The father told the girl that the amulet only works on women, “a necessary lie.” Otherwise, his tribe would have forced him to use it on himself. Vasquez has done well with her life. But then Aerostar realized he was wrong. She’s been instrumental in this war, but it is not her destiny to save the world. The future is clearer now. He needs both halves now. Her father, and her daughter Catrina, wait on the other side of the cosmos.

Vasquez relinquishes her half of the amulet, and it is once again whole. Aerostar leaves, and she fades to the other side. Who does Aerostar intend to give this immortal amulet to? Will it help sway this war in favor of good and life?

Ultima Lucha Cuatro begins!!

We have come so far in just four years, but Lucha Underground promises to continue on as the most innovative and violent promotion in all of professional wrestling!

Lucha Underground Trios Championships Triple Threat Elimination Tag: The Reptile Tribe VS The Rabbit Tribe VS Ivelisse, XO Lishus & Sammy Guevara!

When the Good, the Bad & the Sleazy failed to take the titles off Kobra Moon and her kingdom of serpents, the Mad Hatter and his new allies added insult to injury. Then when the Rabbits took Ivelisse, XO and Joey Ryan on in a fair fight, the White Rabbit choked Joey out. But now, Ivelisse’s team becomes the Good, the Bad & the Sammy to take on both dangerous clans until only on trio is left! Which team will survive to be THE Lucha Underground Trios Champions?

The introductions are made, the belts are raised, and we begin! Tornado rules means all nine luchadores start together. White Rabbit tells Paul London and El Bunny to stand aside, and they obey. White Rabbit dares the others to come at him, so the Undead Death Machine runs in! Rabbit boots Jeremiah Snake in the face, then rocks Ivelisse and King Daga. He grabs Kobra Moon and Sammy G by their jaws! XO runs in but gets a boot, and he throws the other two down by their teeth! He lifts XO for a BIG saido suplex! Fans are impressed by the power on display, but White Rabbit brings out his white glove! He puts it on, but walks into a QUINTUPLE KICK! Rabbit is down, and now the other teams go after each other.

Snake boots Sammy while Daga goes after Ivelisse. Kobra stomps on XO, then the Reptiles throw both XO and Ivelisse out. Kobra builds speed, Snake gives her the lift, and he throws her at White Rabbit! But she merely bounces off him! Rabbit drags Kobra up and bounces her off a post. Snake runs and DIVES, and that takes Rabbit off his feet. El Bunny jumps and huricanranas Daga! Daga gets up but Bunny is fast, he tilt-o-whirls around and around to throw him again. London sets Snake and Daga up for Bunny’s springboard senton! Bunny bowls the Reptiles over and the Believers are fired up. But Ivelisse holds the way open for XO to DIVE! Lishus takes out everyone, but they’re not done. Ivelisse holds the rope down for Sammy to FLY! Then Ivelisse leaps and bowls everyone over!

Believers are thunderous as the teams start brawling. Kobra chops Sammy, Sammy chops Kobra. Rabbit urenages Snake on the apron! Sammy bounces Kobra off barriers while Daga headbutts Rabbit. Rabbit rakes Daga’s eyes while Sammy takes Kobra up top. They brawl near the top of the stands, and end up on the camera deck. Sammy bounces her off steel again, then surveys everything down below. Sammy brings Kobra to the edge, for a SUPER SPANISH FLY ONTO THEM ALL!! Believers lose their minds as Sammy stands above the other eight. But so does Rabbit! Rabbit brings Sammy around, for the mandible claw! He’s going Down the Rabbit Hole! And he uses it to toss Sammy into the ring. White Rabbit tells London to go after him, and London obeys.

London stalks Sammy and kicks him around. Bunny is added but he ends up a speed bump for London’s powerbomb! Sammy makes it a cover, Sammy ELIMINATES the Rabbit Tribe!! White Rabbit hears the bad news, and is seething. He blames London and Bunny, but takes it out on Sammy! Mandible claw STO!! This won’t eliminate Ivelisse’s team since the Rabbit Tribe is no longer legal. Sammy is bleeding from the mouth, but he sits up to spit on White Rabbit! White Rabbit grins as he’s covered in blood. Sammy still needs help, Ivelisse shouts “where’s the f*cking medic?!” while we go to break.

Lucha Underground returns with only two teams, but in a 3v2 situation. Ivelisse and XO take the fight to the Reptiles! Kobra backs off while Snake and Daga kick and stomp Ivelisse & XO down. Daga stomps XO once more while Snake drags Ivelisse up. Snake holds her in place and Daga swings a punch, but Ivelisse dodges, letting Snake take the hit! She tackles Kobra then comes back to crucifix bomb Daga! Cover, Snake breaks it in time! Snake throws Ivelisse out hard, but XO stands. Snake runs at him but gets a roundhouse! XO slingshots but into a boot! Snake whips but XO springboards to a wheelbarrow stunner! Cover, but both Daga and Kobra break it! Fans rally up as the Reptiles focus on XO. Snake yanks XO in for a guillotine hotshot! XO writhes from the pain in his shoulder and neck.

Ivelisse returns, and flies in for a double crossbody on Daga & Kobra! She aims at Snake, scorpion kick to then run and hit a running sunset flip powerbomb! Daga breaks the cover with a Penalty Kick! Believers rally as Kobra pushes Ivelisse out. The Reptiles pick on XO, but XO drags himself with his one good arm. XO shouts “F*CK YOU!!” as he fires off punches and elbows! He’s a house of fire against the three, but he runs into a TRIPLE Kick! Snake grabs XO, butterfly shoulder breaker! Kobra adds a running spike-rana! Daga puts on the Constrictor hold! XO holds on to his bad arm to prevent the full extension, and Ivelisse runs in. Kobra intercepts her, and Snake kicks apart the arms! XO is stuck in the hold, XO taps! The Reptiles win!

Winners: The Reptile Tribe, Daga by submission; still Lucha Underground Trios Champions

The champions retain, but give a small assist to White Rabbit making it easier for them. Will the Reptiles reign over the Trios Division forever? Will Ivelisse ever get back to gold?

Taya Valkyrie Mundo VS Ricky Mantel Mundo!

Don’t get it twisted, there is no relation between these two whatsoever. “La Wera Loca” legally changed her last name because she married the Guru of Greatness himself, Johnny Mundo. Ricky changed his last name because he was a fanboy. But now, the fanatic has gone psychotic, and wants to make the entire Worldwide Underground pay for looking down on him. Will his revenge come full circle? Or will the new Mrs. Mundo make Ricky regret ever being born?

Ricky takes a moment to set little Rosa down in a corner before Taya makes her entrance. She goes right at him with a Spear! The bell rings and she hammers away on Ricky. She whips but Ricky reverses, only to end up in a German Suplex. Taya fires up as she stalks Ricky. He stands, she hits a clothesline in the corner. She stomps a mudhole into him, then backs off. Taya whips her hair and runs in for Meteora! She drags Ricky to a cover, TWO! Ricky isn’t that easy, but Taya just slaps him around. Taya whips Ricky but Ricky dodges to SUPERKICK Taya down! Ricky throws away the headband to start raking Taya’s eyes and thrashing her head around. He brings her up and throws her out of the ring, to then follow her.

Believers rally for Taya as Ricky pulls a table out from under the ring. Ricky sets that up even as the referee reprimands him. He stomps Taya then stands the table up. He fetches Taya and rakes her eyes again. Ricky knees low then whips Taya at the announce desk. But Taya hops up on top of the desk! Ricky doesn’t see it as he is busy “borrowing” a pen. Taya boots him away, then leaps for a crossbody! And she kicks and clubs him back down! Believers are thunderous with Taya and she puts Ricky in the ring. Taya spins Ricky around for a saido suplex, then another! Cover, TWO!

Taya keeps on Ricky but Ricky knees low. Ricky whips her to a corner, then runs in, but she slips out and slides under for a sunset flip. He rolls through but she ducks the kick to get the legs. Queen Angelito stretch! And stomp! Then STF! Ricky endures, reaches for ropes, but he taps! Taya wins!

Winner: Taya Valkyrie Mundo, by submission

Wera Loca gets payback on Ricky for herself, but she now wants revenge for what he did to her friends, her family, and for “ruining my f*cking wedding!!” She gives Ricky a Choke Slam through the table!! Taya also takes Rosa away, leaving Ricky with nothing.

Mask VS Mask: Son of Havoc VS Killshot!

These two have been here since the very beginning. Both men have been Lucha Underground Trios Champions, and were even champions together. However, the Weapon of Lucha Destruction couldn’t get over his Brother in Arms, Dante Fox, being replaced so easily, and clearly took it out on the Man from the Open Road. Havoc had nothing against Killshot, until Killshot disrespected his mask by yanking it off! Now the winner will be the only one allowed to wear their mask, who will be left with less of themselves?

The Believers are divided, as both men have been fan favorites for almost as long as they’ve been in the Temple. The bell rings and the two stare down. Killshot throws a haymaker, Havoc responds with a forearm. It’s a brawl and they go back and forth. Killshot goes to throw Havoc out but Havoc throws him out first. Havoc swings but Killshot blocks. Killshot goes to bounce Havoc off buckles but Havoc clotheslines him down first! Havoc takes off the vest and builds up speed, to FLY with the Sasuke Special! Killshot flounders away while Havoc revels in the Believers’ praise. Havoc goes after Killshot with clubbing forearms, but Havoc CHOPS back. Killshot chops Havoc to sit him down in the bench seat, then chops him again.

Believers continue to duel as Killshot puts Havoc back in the ring. Killshot stalks Havoc and throws in knees. He hits Havoc with a butterfly slam! Killshot brings Havoc up but Havoc elbows out of the Half ‘n’ Half. Havoc runs in but Killshot puts him on the corner. Havoc boots Killshot away, then cartwheels no the ropes. He runs, rebound, but into a backslide catch! Killshot swings Havoc out like that for a knee! Havoc is down, Killshot hurries to a corner. He hops up, KILLSTOMPS! Cover, TWO!? Havoc survives Killshot’s best shot and Believers are again thunderous! Killshot decides to fetch something from outside the ring. He drags over a stretcher? And then he exposes a crossbar on a turnbuckle, and undoes it. This makes room for the stretcher, and puts that in the ring.

Killshot takes his time bringing the stretcher around. He drags Havoc up and powerbomb lifts, but Havoc slips out. Havoc catches Killshot into a backbreaker! Havoc pursues Killshot on the outside, and whips him into railing! He backs off while Killshot is down, because he wants something form under the ring. It’s a table! Havoc brings the table over and sets it up by Killshot. He bounces Killshot off railing again, then finishes setting the table. Believers rally up as Killshot bounces Havoc off railing! Killshot throws haymakers and beats Havoc into the table. Havoc is prone on the wood, and now Killshot climbs.

Havoc springs up to pursue, and they fight on the edge of the bleachers. Believers move aside for Havoc, as he boots Killshot! Killshot holds on, but barely! Havoc throws hands, and Killshot is now on the table. Havoc heads up to the camera deck, Believers fire up, and Havoc leaps for a SUPER splash!! Both men crash through the table!! Believers lose their minds, and it’s Havoc who is up first! Havoc drags Killshot to the ring, covers, TWO?! Killshot lives and Havoc can’t believe it. Believers rally up again, and Havoc climbs up top. But Killshot trips him up! Killshot drags himself up, climbs to join Havoc, and Believers rally again. Killshot clubs away on Havoc, then prepares the double underhook. He stands up but Havoc resists. Havoc gets a fireman’s carry, for a SUPER Death Valley Driver! Then he hurries back up, SHOOTING STAR! TWO!?

No one can believe that this match isn’t over, but they do know “This is Awesome!” Havoc is at a loss for what to do, but he hurries to think what it’ll take. He drags Killshot over to that stretcher and sets him on it. He steps on Killshot to then climb up top again. Killshot sits up and stops him with a swing kick! Killshot pushes the stretcher aside and climbs back up. He has Havoc, SUPERPLEX on the stretcher! Havoc hits an edge, and Believers lose their minds again! Killshot climbs again, takes aim, KILLSTOMPS!! But he won’t settle for just that, he drags Havoc up for a half-nelson wheelbarrow, Storm Driver!! Cover, TWO!?! Now it’s Havoc’s turn to shock Killshot and the Believers! Believers sing “Ole~ ole ole ole~! Lucha~! Lucha~!”

Killshot and Havoc fight on their knees with haymakers and forearms. They both stand and continue brawling. Believers are still divided as Killshot boots Havoc. Havoc comes back to boot Killshot, then rebound cutter! The stretcher comes back in to play, as Havoc gives Killshot a piledriver on it! He straps Killshot in so he can’t leave, and then climbs back up. Killshot fights against the straps, but Havoc leaps for another SHOOTING STAR! Cover on the mat, Havoc wins!!

Winner: Son of Havoc, by pinfall; Killshot must remove his mask

Victory, thy name is Havoc! He gets to keep his persona, but now Killshot must lose his! The unmasking will happen after the break!

Lucha Underground returns…

Killshot sits up, and fans chant “Take his mask!” Havoc as the winner stands with Killshot as he reveals himself as “Lieutenant Jermaine ‘Killshot’ Strickland.” For these last few years, Strickland was trying to erase and hide from his past, the fact that he left his brothers for dead. Killshot kneels, and takes off the mask to reveal his true face. Strickland hands the mask over to Havoc, as it is his prize for winning. Havoc takes it, and holds it up in both victory, and in honor of the man who wore it. Strickland stands, and fans chant “Thank you, Killshot!” The Soldier of Misfortune leaves without his mask, but he still has the respect and admiration of the Believers. Will we see him again in Season 5?

Strickland heads backstage…

Someone calls out to him. It’s Dante Fox, in full Marine dress blues! Strickland asks why Fox went MIA. He had a mission that he couldn’t ignore. But it’s good to see his face again. It’ll be the last time. And sorry, for everything. Permission to be relieved of duty? Fox grants it. And salutes. Strickland returns it, and leaves the Temple. Is it truly for the last time?

My Thoughts:

This was a pretty great start to Ultima Lucha 4. I was really surprised to see the Reptile Tribe retain, while Sammy Guevara was taken out at the same time. I was hoping Ivelisse’s team would still find a way to win, but it seems it was too soon for XO and Sammy to win. Perhaps this will allow Ivelisse to move away from Trios Division and purely to singles as she is pretty much the top woman in Lucha Underground. Then the Reptiles and the Rabbits can battle as the main trios in the Temple. I should say that Taya VS Ricky was a bit lackluster, given they made it a squash. Though, I suppose that’s the only thing they could’ve done if they weren’t going to reveal Rosa to be something supernatural. Maybe something still happens in the rest of UL4 to escalate the story.

Aerostar taking the amulet was pretty interesting. He already gave the Gauntlet of the Gods to Johnny Mundo, so I doubt the amulet is to help against Matanza Cueto. Perhaps it’s for Fenix to save him from the darkness? Fenix VS El Dragon Azteca Jr is coming up next episode, maybe that’s the other key to restoring Fenix’s original self. Havoc VS Killshot was great, and escalated the spots well with the table and the stretcher. I don’t really see how the stretcher piledriver hurts but whatever, it’s pro-wrestling. Shane Strickland finally shows his face on Lucha Underground, but they make it seem as if he’ll be gone now. That seems a shame, he was so good, but perhaps that was always his contract deal. And maybe Havoc uses this momentum to finally get himself the Lucha Underground Championship in Season 5.

My Score: 8.3/10
