IMPACT News: Abyss & Sonjay Dutt Depart IMPACT, Possibly Going To WWE

Abyss & Sonjay Dutt have left IMPACT Wrestling!
Some breaking news this evening for fans of IMPACT Wrestling, as PWInsider is reporting they have confirmed that Abyss and Sonjay Dutt have parted ways with the promotion.
According to PWInsider, the decision for both men to leave the company is said to be “amicable” for all parties and IMPACT informed the roster of Abyss and Dutt’s departures in an email today. Additionally, it’s being said that IMPACT officials did not want to hold either man back from taking a bigger opportunity, which also according to PWInsider looks to be WWE, where they reportedly will begin shortly. At this time their possible roles in WWE are not known, however it’s believed that both will be working in a backstage capacity.
Abyss had recently re-signed with IMPACT last year (see that story here) and was inducted into the IMPACT Hall Of Fame over Bound For Glory weekend. Since then, ‘The Monster’ has been filling a producer’s role behind-the-scenes. As for Sonjay Dutt, he had been a member of IMPACT’s creative team and it’s believed he will take on similar duties for WWE, should that turn out to be the destination.
Regarding what this means for IMPACT’s current creative team, PWInsider is also reporting they have confirmed that Tommy Dreamer and Konnan have now stepped in.

ZARIA Betrays Sol Ruca to Win Last Woman Standing at NXT Revenge
ZARIA once again betrayed Sol Ruca’s trust and used that treachery to secure victory in a Last Woman Standing match that closed out week two of NXT Revenge. The brutal stipulation match ended with ZARIA unable to be counted out, cementing her dominance over Ruca.
Sol Ruca had been featured earlier on the Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania, going one-on-one with new WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan, but she could not overcome ZARIA’s final attack at NXT Revenge. The result pushes ZARIA further into the spotlight while leaving Ruca regrouping after a tough week.
