AEW hears from Jon Moxley and Hangman Adam Page.
The Blue Eyed Battler says, “There is a sense of accomplishment coming back to Cincinnati, I left here with nothing. To come back as kind of a conqueror, there is a sense of satisfaction.” The Cowboy says he and Moxley have been in AEW three years now, “and in three years, I think we’ve beaten just about everyone there is to beat, except for each other. Last year in the Casino Ladder Match, at the end of the match, me and Moxley were on top of the ladder. Punches back and forth and back and forth, and who broke first? It wasn’t me.” Moxley says, “There is no man on this planet that is gonna walk into my home, my city, my home arena, and take anything outta my house. No effing way.”
Hangman says that title is Moxley’s, but the 18th is going to be his night. Angry, frustrated, battered and beaten, the Cowboy keeps coming back. But is this the Cowboy’s Comeback in the Maniac’s backyard?
Backstage interview with Britt Baker and friends.
Tony Schiavone says Toni Storm defends the Interim AEW Women’s World Championship against Hikaru Shida tonight, but The Doctor and her sidekicks are interested in watching that match. Britt says, “Interested? Mildly. ‘Extremely disgusted’ would be the right word, Tony, that Jamie Hayter or myself are not the current Interim Women’s World Champion.” Hayter says, “Mark our words: by the end of 2022, one of us will be Interim AEW Women’s World Champion.” Actually, jump ahead. One of them will be THE AEW Women’s World Champion, but that’s a whole ‘nother story. “Toni Time is over! Shida later!” Yours Truly, Dr. Britt Baker, DMD.
Interim AEW Women’s World Championship: Toni Storm VS Hikaru Shida!
Baker and Hayter aside, the Lightning From Down Under VS The Shining Samurai is a match ten YEARS in the making! They first faced off in Japan, and we saw them team up just last week, and now we see this clash come to AEW! Will Toni Time keep on keeping on? Or will Shida add a THIRD belt to her collection?

Shida endures, moves around, reaches out with a foot, but Storm pulls on the arms for a proper motorcycle stretch. Shida fights up to her feet, turns things around, but Storm turns it back around! Storm drags Shida up, for a HALF HATCH SUPLEX! Cover, TWO! Storm is annoyed but she drags Shida up. Shida throws body shots but Storm CLUBS her. Shida throws forearms, Storm throws them back, and Dynamite returns to single picture.
Shida gets the edge with a flurry of forearms and fans fire up! Shida runs, but Storm kicks low! Storm runs, but into a RANA! Fans fire up and Shida runs in, blocks the lariat and ROCKS Storm! Shida whips and KNEES down Storm! Fans fire up as Storm goes to a corner, and Shida climbs up to rain down fists! Shida goes all the way to TEN, and then pushes Storm out. Shida adjusts and jumps, MISSILE DROPKICK! Cover, TWO! Shida hurries to reel Storm in but Storm wrenches out to fire a forearm! Shida gives it back, they go back and forth, and fans rally with each shot! Storm HEADBUTTS but Shida ENZIGURIS! Both women are down and fans love it!
A standing count starts but Shida grits her teeth as she goes to a corner. Shida goes out to the apron and fans rally up. Shida climbs, but Storm CHOPS her first! Storm climbs up and brings Shida up. Storm has a gut wrench but Shida fights free. Shida HEADBUTTS and HEADBUTTS and HEADBUTTS! Storm falls back, Shida adjusts, METEORA! Shida drags Storm up to gut wrench and DOMINATOR! Cover, TWO!! Storm survives but Shida roars as she resets! Shida suplexes but Storm slips out! Storm waistlocks, Shida switches and shoves to then go to the corner, VENUS SHOOT misses! GERMAN SUPLEX!
Shida ends up in a corner and Storm runs in, SWEET HIP MUSIC! Storm drags Shida up, fans duel as Storm TORNADO- NO, Shida blocks the DDT! Shida suplexes, FALCON ARROW! Cover, TWO!! Storm survives as Shida couldn’t get it all, but Shida still has more to give! KATA- NO, Storm ROCKS Shida first! Storm reels Shida in, but Shida back drops free! Storm sunset flips Shida, ONE as Shida has the PRAWN HOLD! TWO!!! Storm escapes, blocks the Tamashi and GERMAN SUPLEXES! Bridging cover, TWO!! Winner: Toni Storm, by pinfall (still Interim AEW Women’s World Champion)
But here come Hayter & Rebel! Hayter stomps Storm down! Rebel has a crutch, and here comes Britt from the stage! They’re ruining the celebration, especially with Britt wearing a Steelers jersey in Cincy! Britt swaggers her way to the ring while Hayter and Rebel stomp away, but wait! Here comes SARAYA! She runs down and Britt dares her to do something! So Saraya CLOBBERS Britt! Saraya fires off hands, Britt hits back, they brawl while Rebel CRACKS Storm with that crutch! Riho goes up top, and SUPER CROSSBODIES Hayter down! Fans are thunderous as Riho saves Storm and helps her up. Storm hugs Riho in thanks, will Riho earn herself some Toni Time down the line? And just where have Britt and Saraya ended up brawling to the back?
WARJOE speaks!
In response to The Embassy’s attacks and the arrival of The Kingdom, the AEW TNT Champion, Wardlow, says he has “zero tolerance for disrespect. So now that you have, we get to teach you a lesson. And we can do it however you want: collectively, individually; either way, we are going to physically hurt you.” The ROH World Television Champion, Samoa Joe, dares them to “pick a championship. Your choice. I know right now you’re thinking to yourselves, ‘This is a golden opportunity.’ That cackling bird walking around ringside, she’s telling you, ‘Boys, this is our shot!'”
But Joe will explain to them what this really is: they are two men who have six million ways to die, and they still chose the wrong ones. Will the arrival of Maria Kanellis, Mike Bennett & Matt Taven soon turn into the departure of The Kingdom?
Backstage interview with FTR.
Renee Paquette is with Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood, and what an insane 2022 they’d had so far! The AAA World Tag Team Championships, the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships and even the ROH World Tag Team Championships, and they are still #1 contenders to the AEW World Tag Team Championships. When are they planning on adding to the collection? Dax knows they and Renee go way back, and for the better part of a decade, Cash & Dax have been wanting to become the Greatest Tag Team of All Time. Now, Dax doesn’t know if they’ll ever truly reach that goal, but 2022 is a great starting point.
Yes, they are the ROH, IWGP and AAA World Tag Team Champions, but coming with that is a big target on their backs. So whether it’s AAA’s Dragon Lee & Dralístico, ROH’s Gates of Agony, or even last week, the return of ROH’s The Kingdom! They’re all gunning for tag titles, that huge target is even bigger. But ultimately, targets or not, FTR want those fourth belts, the AEW World Tag Team Championships. Cash says they’ve had the best year of their careers, a dream year, but at the end of the day, they have to have those AEW titles back. They have to become two-time AEW World Tag Team Champions, or they just can’t live with themselves.
Right now, they are the rightful #1 contenders, so- Wait, in walk Swerve In Our Glory, Swerve Strickland & Keith Lee. Swerve says, while munching on a Crunch bar, “I know y’all ain’t talking about #1 contendership up in whose house?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” But first of all, Swerve knows FTR has been putting their priorities in every other company but AEW, and now they wanna make claims? Six to seven months now, they’ve been #1 contenders, and now they wanna come at AEW? No, Swerve & Keith deserve that spot, not FTR. Keith speaks up, frustrated with Swerve talking. For once, Keith apologizes for Swerve.
And for once, the past few weeks, Keith actually agrees with Swerve. They do deserve a shot. FTR also agrees, Dax has respect for both Keith & Swerve. So if they want the shot at the AEW World Tag titles, then next week, Norfolk, Virginia, for the first time ever, FTR VS Swerve In Our Glory, to name THE #1 Contenders. Keith says, “Indubitably.” Fans cheer and Swerve can’t even! But FTR says this is their house, bitch! Will the #TopGuys stay on top of the AEW Rankings? Or will Swerve & Keith earn their way back to a shot at The Acclaimed?
Backstage interview with Darby Allin, Jay Lethal & Sonjay Dutt.
Alex Marvez makes sure everyone here understands that while Lethal & Sonjay requested this time with Darby, AEW Management is insistent on the No Physicality Agreement being upheld. Lethal says he did that so he could ask Darby for a rematch. Darby won a couple weeks ago, but Lethal says that was a fluke! Lethal would prove to Darby, the world, and to his best friend, Sonjay, that Lethal can beat Darby any time he wants! That’s why they’re here. Wow, all this just for a rematch? Yeah, two weeks ago, Darby did win, and he’ll beat Lethal again, so that Lethal will want another match, and it’ll keep going again and again and again.
Sonjay steps in to tell Darby that he should listen to what Sonjay has to say. Sonjay & Lethal know Darby’s weakness, and it wasn’t just Sonjay & Lethal who came up with it. “A good, close personal friend” pointed out exactly what Darby Allin’s weakness is. And now that he sees Darby up close, Sonjay thinks Darby looks like a “trash panda.” Darby tells Marvez to leave now. Lethal agrees, and Darby asks them, “You know my weakness, huh?” Darby shoves Lethal! And then he shoves Sonjay! So Lethal DECKS Darby! So much for that NPA! Lethal and Sonjay mug Darby, they go along towards the garage door, and Lethal RAMS Darby right into it!
Lethal puts Darby under the door and holds him down! Sonjay presses the button to close the door! It lowers right on Darby’s ribs! Darby is being squeezed and crushed while Lethal stomps away! Then Lethal goes around to the other side, and he puts Darby’s legs in the FIGURE FOUR! Darby is being tortured but security and staff rush in! They shout at Lethal, he lets Darby go, but will Darby even be able to make it to that rematch now?
Tony Schiavone is in the ring.
Schiavone is with the Blackpool Combat Club’s leader, William Regal! Schiavone says the main event is Cincinnati’s own, Jon Moxley, defending his title against Hangman Page! Regal says yes, and it is for the AEW World- Wait! Here comes MJF! We all knew MJF was going to show up sometime tonight, and now he’s showing up to interrupt this interview! Fans are fired up to see Maxwell Jacob Friedman as he joins Regal in the ring. MJF shows he is putting the Dynamite Diamond Ring away, and Regal shows he does have his brass knuckles. MJF says he’s not here to fight, he’s here to talk. Regal puts the knuckle dusters away, and MJF steps closer.
MJF says, “Now here’s what’s gonna happen. I’m gonna tell a story, and I don’t care how long it is, you’re gonna listen. Because whether you realize it or not, you owe me that.” Fans boo as they aren’t so sure, but MJF continues, “Cincinnati, bear with me. When I was 19 years old, training in the business for one year at the Create A Pro-Wrestler Academy, one fateful day, I get pulled over to the side by my trainers, Pat Buck & Bryan Myers.” Fans applaud those names and MJF says yeah, they’re great guys. But they told MJF, “Kid, congrats, your hard work’s paid off. We got you WWE extra work.”
And to some, that might not sounds like a lot, but to MJF, it was the only show in town and it was an honor and opportunity. An opportunity is all MJF needed, so he packed his best gear, his best suit, and drove to the Barclays Center. Then, MJF and the extras were greeted and spoken to by none other than Sir William Regal. Regal told them, “You are all gonna go to the ring and have tryout matches before the show’s proceedings tonight.” Regal then had them all go against random opponents, put in a single file line, and MJF’s match was set to go on second. The first was two young dreamers, with the onlookers being Arn Anderson, Dean Malenko, Adam Pearce, and William Regal.
The wrestlers locked up, Malenko rang the bell and told them to get out. The second match was up, the pressure was on, MJF got his turn. He was shaking like a leaf, got in the ring, and knew he wasn’t fighting for a contract, but fighting for his life! “Cuz make no mistake about it, Will, professional wrestling is my life!” Fans cheer that! MJF says after his match, he was soaking wet with sweat from winning, and all four judges looked at him like he had eight heads. Then Regal pulled MJF away from the group and told him, “Follow me.” Regal led MJF to a separate room where it was just the two of them, and Regal said, “Kid, you’ve got three minutes to sell yourself to me. Go.”
“And boy, did I.” By the time MJF was done talking, Regal’s jaw was on the floor. And then Regal picked it up and said something MJF will never forget. Regal said, “Kid, I’m gonna get you a job here today.” MJF huffs and puffs as he asks, “And then what happened, huh? And then what happened? And then… I realized in that moment, I did it. I was no longer gonna be looked at by all the naysayers as a 5-foot-nothing, ADD riddled Jew boy, NO NO! I was gonna be a Superstar!” Fans cheer that, but there’s clearly still more. MJF says he had done it, he had accomplished his dream, and then, with a crooked grin, Regal asked, “How old are you, kid?” And MJF said, “19 years old, sir.”
Regal looked at MJF and said, “Kid, I’m sorry, but you’re much too young.” Fans boo now, seeing the twist. MJF said his heart stopped, his dreams evaporated, and in one fell swoop… Fans chant at Regal, “You Effed Up!” MJF says Regal then “resuscitated” MJF with his version of hope. “Kid, I don’t like to put my name on many people, but when I do, they get jobs here.” The list is small, but the list is as follows: Claudio Castagnoli; Bryan Danielson; and Cincinnati’s own, Jon Moxley. Regal told MJF that he saw something in MJF. When MJF “becomes of age,” Regal will put his name on MJF! But until then, MJF should go home, work his ass off, and every single month, send Regal a match and a promo.
So that’s what MJF did. MJF busted his ass! Month one, Regal responds, “Maxwell, thank you so much, I look forward to reviewing your progress.” Month two, “Maxwell, thank you so much, I look forward to reviewing your progress.” Then month three came, and after Regal told MJF to send in a match and a promo, Regal send MJF a promo that MJF still has saved to his phone to this day! Regal can smirk all he wants now, but he sent MJF this promo that MJF has read every single day since, so he’ll read it now! Fans cheer, liking the sound of that.
Here’s the email Regal sent: “Max, I’m a very, very busy man. I’ve got talent from all over the world to watch, and I’ve just had to sit for minutes watching you,” and this was in quotations, “‘show me your acting skills.’ Do not reply to this, but how would this make me say, ‘Oh, I know. Let’s hire Max.’ Make a name for yourself in the wrestling world and you’ll get noticed. That means being a high level performer. When you do, trust me, I’ll know. Unfortunately for you, the game has changed. The WWE exclusively hires the best talent in the world to the top world-class athletes. When you’re one of them, then maybe send me your stuff. Yours Sincerely, William Regal.”
Fans boo but Regal still smirks. MJF says that is the email Regal sent to a 19-year-old kid, “a CHILD WITH A DREAM! And you squandered it!!” MJF wants Regal to look at him. This is REAL, dammit! When MJF read that email, he wanted to quit pro-wrestling and his life. That email made MJF want to KILL HIMSELF!! Regal still smirks as MJF gets emotional, but Cincy fires up for MJF as he says, “But then I realized, if I did, then you and all the naysayers would win, and I couldn’t have that, now could I, Will? No no.” And now, the tables have turned. This is 2022, and Regal is nothing more than “a sad, withered old man who got FIRED!”
MJF tells Regal that Regal has snuck into MJF’s company like a rat, “sticking to talents far better than you ever were, like a succubus!” And y’know who MJF is? He’s MJF! The 26-year-old kid on top of the business as as generational talent! Fans agree there! And MJF is also the man who Regal’s former employers now would be willing to take several human lives simply to get MJF to put pen to paper in the bidding war of 2024. MJF wants Regal to look at him, MJF reads that email every single day. But not to put a chip on his shoulder, no. He just needs that for a good, hardy laugh. That’s who Regal is to MJF now: “nothing more than a joke.”
And y’know who MJF is about to become? AEW CHAMPION OF THE WORLD! Because he is Maxwell Jacob Friedman! And he’s better than you, and you know it!! MJF throws down the mic, Cincy gives him a standing ovation, even though that means MJF is gunning for their hometown hero. Regal picks up the mic to say, “Job well done. You mentioned being 19 and being a child. At 16, I left home and went to work on a carnival, and was having to fight grown men to get into this industry. I wasn’t trying to cast you aside, Max. I saw exactly in you what I’m seeing now, and it’s making me happy.
“I saw somebody who was going to be a big, big star. I wanted to light a fire under your backside. One, because we live in a day and age where you can’t have grown men smashing your face in when you’re 16, and when you’re 17, and when you’re crying every single night that you go to bed and there’s blood running out of every hole in your body and you want to quit, but you won’t let yourself, because at 17, I said, ‘No! I will not quit! I will keep going because I am going to be a professional wrestler!’ And if a bloody email is what it took to get you to this place, and you’ve held onto that for 7 YEARS… You’ve had it easy, sunshine.”
Regal says this is what MJF has had! He’s had it easy! MJF mastered something that he forgets, they spent several times together where Regal told MJF, “This is what you need to get good at, sunshine. You need to practice. Every time you brush your teeth, you need to stand and talk and practice and get so people take notice of you when you pick up a microphone.” Regal could see how talented MJF was then, and he watched MJF VS Wheeler Yuta last week, so he sees what an incredible talent MJF is now! MJF is 26, but before MJF was even born, Regal was insulting Mr. Schiavone, beating people up, and yet he would never lay a hand on Schiavone.
Regal is what they’d call an ODV, an Ordinary, Decent Villain. Anyone that steps between the ropes, that’s fair game. But you never put your hand on someone like Schiavone. Regal wanted MJF to be where he is, and knew he had it in him. The only problem is, MJF let Regal down because he took shortcuts. MJF hasn’t done anything to prove anything to Regal yet! Just because MJF gets paid here doesn’t prove anything. Just because he makes lots of money doesn’t prove anything. MJF hired people to do his dirty work, he hides behind a diamond ring to knock people out. Regal doesn’t need a ring to knock people out. When Regal used the brass knuckles, it’s just because he likes hitting people with brass knuckles!
“Max, don’t take any shortcuts. You wanna be a real bad guy? You wanna be The Devil? Then make a name for yourself by doing it right. Beat everybody that stands in front of you, and I don’t care what liberties you take with your pettiness, just get to that place. But if you want to be The Devil, show the world right now.” Regal turns around! “Or are you just going to take another shortcut and so you can come out here and act like a victim, and whine and cry.” MJF takes out the diamond ring and puts it on! Fans boo but Regal just stands still. MJF is conflicted. Regal turns back around with a smirk, but then sighs and says, “You still have a lot to prove.”
Regal drops the mic and leaves MJF with his thoughts. MJF has the Casino Ladder Match poker chip, but will he reconsider cashing it in tonight?
Dalton Castle speaks.
The Peacock sees Jericho with the ROH World Championship, and he says, “It’s not fair to the viewers, it’s not fair to Ring of Honor, and unfortunately, it’s up to me and my Boys to do something about this. There is gonna be a forest fire of color, and I am gonna leave Cincinnati the NEW ROH World Champion!” But will Castle be able to dethrone #THEOCHO? We find out in mere moments!
Backstage interview with The Acclaimed.
Renee is with the AEW World Tag Team Champions and Billy Gunn, and she says ever since they won the titles, everyone wants a piece of them, especially Mark Sterling. Billy first wants to welcome Renee to AEW, “and yes, someone is trying to take away the phenomenon that everybody in this building and the millions… and millions of people are doing at home, called scissoring.” Anthony Bowens this Friday, live in Jacksonville where The Acclaimed was born, it will be The Acclaimed VS Tony Nese & Josh Woods! Caster adds, “That’s right!” “Titles VS Trademark!” “That’s right!” “And we’re gonna get back to scissoring, because EVERYONE loves the Acclaimed!”
“That’s right! And Mark Sterling, you wanna cool us off and get involved with what we’ve got going on? No, we’re hot forever. So Smart Mark, AKA Shart Mark, on Friday night, we’re gonna stomp you in the nuts!” Bowens kicks at the ground to demonstrate, and that’s a mic drop. Will Caster & Bowens win back their right to scissor finger? Or will “The Varsity Athletes” steal something else from a more popular team?
Renee Paquette has a sit down interview with Bryan Danielson & Wheeler Yuta.
She says first thing’s first, she wants his reaction to unfortunately losing to Chris Jericho for the ROH World Championship. Bryan says it is never fun to lose a match, but especially to Jericho and for the ROH Championship. That title means so much to Bryan, and is part of the person and wrestler he has become. So yeah, not ideal. Renee says one thing we can all see is the reaction to what went down with Daniel Garcia. How has that been sitting with him after a week? Bryan says he had high hopes for Garcia. Bryan looks at Garcia as someone who could not just be the next Bryan Danielson, but even surpass him as a technical wrestler.
Bryan has seen Garcia do so many incredible things at such a young age, that with the right guidance, Garcia could be the best wrestler they’ve ever seen. Renee points out that she notices Yuta’s reactions to this. Yeah… “The best wrestler you’ve ever seen.” Yuta can’t believe Bryan is surprised by how things went down last week. Has Bryan not paid attention? Yuta and Claudio have, they saw this a mile away. Garcia was clearly using Bryan. Garcia has “Dragonslayer” in his tron, and he was tricking Bryan to get what he wants and what Jericho wants. Garcia is a snake! And Bryan didn’t see it.
Yuta thought that when he bled to be Blackpool Combat Club, it meant something. It means something to Moxley, who is AEW World Champion. It means something to Claudio, because he agrees with Yuta. Claudio sees it. But maybe Yuta shouldn’t have met his hero, because this clearly doesn’t mean anything to Bryan. Yuta storms off, Bryan isn’t sure what to make of this. Is the BCC going to crumble, all because of Garcia’s betrayal?

Jericho managed to pull that one out without cheating! And the rest of the Jericho Appreciation Society appears to celebrate, but Jericho has the music cut. “All Honor the Ocho! I said I was gonna desecrate the legacy of ROH, and I’m doing it! ROH champions: out! ROH ring announcers: done! Even ROH commentators…” Jericho has the JAS go after Ian Riccoboni! Menard & Parker drag Ian from the desk, and Jericho aims the belt! But Jerry Lynn grabs the belt from Jericho to yell at him about this! Jericho LOW BLOWS Lynn! And then scoops him, to TOMBSTONE Lynn on the belt!!! The ultimate disrespect!
Security and refs rush out as Jericho celebrates his win. The Wizard continues to cross line after line, will anyone be able to stop his reign of terror?
Christian Cage speaks.
“Now there’s been a misconception lately that somehow, somehow, I brainwashed Luchasaurus. Now that couldn’t be the furthest thing from the truth. In fact, I think it’s pretty obvious, Jungle Boy, that as far as intelligence goes, Luchasaurus was the brains of your team, was he not?” Luchasaurus nods in agreement. “We are through with you! We are on to bigger and better things, my friend. In fact, it’s gonna be all gold from here on out. If you have a championship, if you are a champion in AEW, this is your warning. Because the reality is about to give you a bitch slap in the form of My Right Hand of Destruction, Luchasaurus.”
Backstage interview with The Baddies.
Renee tries to get a word with Leila Grey & Kiera Hogan, but they tell her they don’t have time! They’ve got business to take care of. But then the Baddies walk into their leader, Jade Cargill, and she asks where her belt went. She doesn’t see it. Kiera explains they’ve been looking for Nyla Rose everywhere but they can’t find her. Jade says duh, that’s because Nyla’s not here! How did they not know that? Leila says they do have something. Uh, Kiera has something. Kiera found out that Nyla will be in Jacksonville for Rampage. Is that right? Then perfect, because Jade will be in Jacksonville for Rampage. In fact, she’ll walk right to the ring and demand her belt back.
Jade looks at the camera and says, “Tony Khan, here’s the deal: either you get Nyla Rose to bring me my belt because she’s too much of a chicken sh*t; or I will hijack your show for sixty minutes. See you Friday.” Will the Native Beast have no choice but to turn over the AEW TBS Championship? Or will Jade have no choice but to turn Rampage into #ThatBitchShow?
AEW World Championship: Jon Moxley VS Hangman Page!
Quite the homecoming for Cincinnati’s own, but he wouldn’t have it any other way. This has been building for three years, and now we will finally see The Maniac VS The Cowboy 1v1, and for the greatest prize in AEW! Will the hometown hero keep this belt home with him? Or will Cincy see some serious #CowboySh*t?
The introductions are made, Moxley makes his way through the crowd, and #TitleTuesday ends with one for the ages!
MJF is spotted clutching his poker chip, but Hangman doesn’t wait for Moxley to make it to ringside! Hangman goes hunting, and the brawl is on! Fans are thunderous already as Hangman makes Mox take a seat, and then BOOTS him down! Fans are torn but mostly boo as Hangman snap suplexes Moxley on the floor! The ref reprimands but Hangman doesn’t go to ringside, he goes up the bleachers. Hangman finds his way to the railing and spots where he left Moxley. Hangman paces, he sits Moxley up and he kicks him against the wall! Hangman drags Moxley up, brings him around with a cravat and then throws him into more barriers, But Moxley turns things around to ROCK Hangman! And ROCK him again! And again! Moxley then climbs up onto the barriers for fans to see and cheer. Moxley leaps to AX HANDLE Hangman down! The ref insists they get this to ringside, but Hangman kicks low and RAMS Moxley into railing!
Moxley, already a bit bloodied, staggers and sits down. Hangman punches away on that bloody forehead, then takes a taste of Moxley’s blood! Hangman then puts Moxley in the ring and gets on the apron, only for Moxley to DECK him! Hangman staggers now, Moxley builds speed and DIVES! Direct hit and both men are down on the floor! The ref checks and somehow Moxley is okay to continue. Hangman gets in the ring, but he has to get Moxley. Hangman hobbles his way over, he stands Moxley up, and he CHOPS! Hangman could be out cold, or he could be concussed. Moxley backs down and fans boo, they don’t want this to end! But the ref calls for the bell!
Winner: Jon Moxley, by referee stoppage (still AEW World Champion)
The hometown hero wins, but not the way he wanted. William Regal goes to the ring to celebrate with Moxley all the same, will Hangman have to fight his way back to this title once again? As for Moxley, he gets the mic to address the crowd. “Ladies and gentlemen, I hope and pray that Hangman Adam Page recovers to 100%, can walk again, talk again, play with his little baby again, and come perform for all you fans again. But this is a dangerous game that we play, and you gotta have guts to play it. You gotta risk it all to play it. You gotta put every single thing on the line every time you step into this ring if you want to be successful in professional wrestling.
“And since I’m on live television, and I’m out here, and I’ve still got a lot of energy in me, I was watching earlier while I was getting ready, and some little [censored] is talking a lot of s*it. And I usually just let him talk his s*it because basically, he’s not worth breaking a knuckle on. But the Yankees didn’t go into extra innings so we still got some TV time, so… If MJF, you wanna prove just who the hell you say you are, why don’t you get your little suburban ass out here in my ring in Cincinnati, right now!” Fans like the sound of that, and here comes MJF! And he has a ref! And his chip! Is he cashing in!? MJF puts the ref in the ring, but then Regal asks him what’s the play.
MJF is still in street gear, he throws down his scarf and takes off his shirt, and the ref has the belt. Moxley flips MJF off to egg him on, but then MJF bails out? MJF tells Regal if he is to earn this, then hold onto the chip! MJF runs to commentary, grabs a mic, and he shouts, “You wanna talk about me cutting corners? Nah. You wanna talk about me being a man? These people KNOW I’m a man!” Regal chuckles but MJF says, “Here’s what’s gonna go down! I’m gonna cash that chip in, but when I do, I don’t want you at 50%, I don’t want you right after a match. I want you 110%! I don’t want any excuses!
“I wanna make sure, that when I beat you, clean, smackdab in the middle of that ring, that there’s not a GADDAMN QUESTION that I’m better than you and you know it! I’m cashing my chip in… FULL GEAR! Because for the first time, look at me when I say this, Regal, you piece of s*it! For the first time in my miserable life… I’m gonna earn it.” Fans fire up for that one! Regal grins and Moxley seems up for that. MJF is going to do things the right way, and Moxley grabs the mic. It seems there’s difficulties, Moxley is annoyed, “the show’s going downhill.”
But his response to MJF is explaining just what MJF will earn: the heel of Moxley’s boot in his mouth; MJF’s teeth rolling around in his mouth and going down his effin’ throat; Moxley’s fist right up MJF’s ass; MJF’s throat getting squeezed until his head turns purple and pops off like a Pez dispenser; a date with destiny, a date a lot of people don’t make it out of the ring standing, a date with Moxley, the best wrestler in the world, the AEW World Champion! And we’re gonna find out just what MJF is made of as Moxley makes an example out of him to show the whole world that getting in the ring with Moxley is dangerous as all hell!
November 19th can’t get here soon enough! Will Maxwell Jacob Friedman finally put his money where his mouth is? Or will the Maniac prove that once and for all, no one messes with the Maniac?
My Thoughts:
This was an awesome AEW, and when they established there’d be four title matches, I just knew those would be the only matches, and that each match would be awesome. Opening with the Trios titles makes a lot of sense, as does Death Triangle retaining, but I’m a little unsure about that bit where Fenix stopped Pac from cheating. By normal conventions, that moment would’ve cost them. But at the same time, AEW is refraining from having another AEW Double Champion so soon. I suppose Death Triangle did need to establish they talked among themselves about Pac’s cheating, and the fastest way to do that is in a match, not in a promo segment.
Good promo from Britt and friends to lead into the women’s title match, and a great women’s title match at that. I figured Storm would retain, and of course Britt’s crew goes after her. Saraya going after Britt was a logical move, and I suppose this means AEW is going to clear her. I just hope it’s more a tag match and not 1v1. Riho returning is great, that makes for a great number of match-ups, including Riho VS Storm. Good bit from Jade & The Baddies to set up a confrontation for Rampage, and chances are, we get a brawl from Jade and Nyla to set up a title match for Full Gear. Part of that build should be Marina Shafir and even Diamante joining Nyla in a Six Woman Tag against The Baddies.
Good promo from WARJOE to call out The Kingdom, though taking them on in singles matches is not what I expected. Really good segment from Lethal and Darby to set up their rematch, which will be a wild one after that garage door vice spot. Really good promo from FTR and Swerve In Our Glory, that is going to be a great tag match that I honestly can’t predict. FTR could take on The Acclaimed but then it’d be a shame for Acclaimed to lose those belts. But I feel like Swerve In Our Glory is just one loss away from breaking up, and I feel like the best time for that would be in another loss to The Acclaimed.
The Acclaimed also have a good promo calling out Sterling’s stable, and I just knew we were getting Titles VS Trademark. The Acclaimed will of course win so that they can have an even bigger scissor finger celebration than National Scissoring Day, especially with it being a homecoming to Jacksonville and I would think Daily’s Place. Good promo from Christian Cage to call out champions, but with WARJOE busy, I feel like Luchasaurus is either going after FTW Champion, Hook, or All-Atlantic Champion, Orange Cassidy. Either is fine, but I don’t see Luchasaurus dethroning either. Hook is still in that weird space where he hasn’t even been pushed to his limits, and Cassidy should be feuding with Ethan Page over Ethan’s promo calling out all comedy characters.
That was a really good sit-down interview promo for Yuta and Bryan. I sensed Yuta would be upset by this whole Garcia thing, and here it is! Granted, I didn’t sense nor wanted Garcia defaulting back to JAS, but still. Yuta says the others agree with him, is Bryan going to get kicked out of the faction he suggested forming? Or is Bryan going to see things Yuta’s way and give up on Garcia? We got an awesome match out of Jericho and Castle, and I like that they just threw in a couple jobbers to be the extra Boys, just so Hager would have more people to throw around. Jericho wins 99% clean, as Hager could be considered a distraction, but I suppose at some point, Jericho would win clean against someone. Jericho doubling down by wanting to hurt Riccoboni and then hurting Jerry Lynn was some good Heel Heat, I can’t wait to see who is next for his ROH hit list.
And of course, just amazing stuff out of MJF, Regal, and how it relates to the world title. MJF again digs down deep and bares part of his soul, and even then Regal throws that all back in his face because MJF was being biased. The main event was building into something awesome, it is a damn shame Hangman got hurt. I think I speak for everyone at The Chairshot in wishing Hangman all the best, he has really worked hard to get where he is now. But MJF coming out to establish that he won’t do a Money in the Bank Heel cash-in but more a Face cash-in is great stuff. Moxley VS MJF at Full Gear is going to be awesome stuff, and they’ve got a full month to build it, so who knows what further twists and turns happen along the way.
My Score: 9/10

Adam Copeland is here!
The fans fire up and sing along as The Rated R Superstar makes his entrance, complete with the pyro but also a black eye. Cope goes to the ring, he grabs a mic, and he tells Seattle, “If you couldn’t tell, Dynasty on Sunday didn’t necessarily go our way. Yes, my face got messed up, way to go, Einstein. I got glue in my forehead, staples in my forehead, I got a shiner. Let’s face it, FTR… They said what they were gonna do and they did it.” The fans boo but Cope says they got to Christian, too, that’s why he’s not here. Christian’s gotta get an MRI on his forearm to see if it’s broke. The fans also boo that.
Cope says FTR gave his wife a piledriver. They took Christian’s watch! And in Christian’s world, that’s actually worse! There are three things you don’t mess with when it comes to Christian: His watch, his wine, and his women. In that order. But FTR, on Dynamite, you came out and said that while you’re the champions, Cope & Cage will not get another title shot. The fans boo again, but Cope says he is cooking an idea on that so bear with him. But if FTR thinks that this is just about titles, that C&C are just gonna walk away cuz they didn’t win at Dynasty, they’ve watched C&C’s careers and think that these two are just gonna walk away?
Do you think that they’re just gonna tuck their tails and run? The fans say “NO!” Cope says that is NOT what they do! Christian was forced to retire for seven YEARS! He busted his ass and he got this back! The fans cheer that, and Cope says he was retired for NINE YEARS, told he can never do this again because if he fell over, he could die! But Cope is standing here, full o’ piss ‘n’ vinegar! C&C are like dogs on a bone, and they will END FTR and take their pound of flesh! The fans cheer, but then FTR makes their way out here. Cope is ready to fight, but where are they? FTR walks out on stage, and Stoke has the mic as he smiles at Cope.
But then RPG VICE rush Cope, just like last week! Cope is ready this time and he fights off Rocky & Trent, but now FTR joins in! The fans boo this 4v1 mugging with Stoke cheering them on! But wait! The Young Bucks rush out here! Matt & Nick Jackson rush the ring, and they dodge FTR to CLOBBER RPG Vice! Then DOUBLE SUPERKICKS for FTR! RPG Vice go after The Bucks, then send them at each other! The Bucks reverse to LARIAT Rocky, then they DOUBLE SUPERKICK Trent! Cope SPEARS Trent down and the fans fire up! Cope snarls as he stands back up, and he shakes hands with The Bucks as thanks for the help.
Cope & The Bucks stare FTR down as FTR retreats, but will The Bucks and C&C have to fight it out to go after those tag team championships?
Jack Perry speaks.
“At Dynasty, I got my first taste of what it’s like to defend this championship. And it’s exactly what I’ve been waiting for. But Don Callis, you only got close enough to get a sniff, because I beat your biggest, baddest and most dangerous, Mark Davis. But after what you just did to the Young Bucks, well, I wanna shove this up your big, stupid, spray-tanned nose. So why don’t you go ahead and pick your favorite goon out of the bunch and meet me next week in Portland so that I can add another notch to my belt as the National Champion.” Jungle Jack has thrown out the challenge, but who will be up to the task?
The Young Bucks VS The Rascalz!
Matt & Nick got a warm-up in with that brawl, but now it’s time to go to work. Will Spring Breakthru turn into a Superkick Party? Or will Zachary Wentz & Myron Reed light it up?
The teams sort out and Nick starts against Zach. The bell rings, Zach and Nick circle, shake hands, then rally the fans. Nick and Zach circle, tie up, and Nick wrenches an arm to a wristlock. Nick YANKS the arm, but Zach rolls, kips up, and flips back to arm-drag free! The fans cheer, Zach dodges Nick to hurdle over. Nick leaps over, then WHEEL KICKS! The fans cheer as Nick whips Zach, but Zach reverses. Matt sneaks the tag, Nick goes up and over to clinch, GUT BUSTER to BACKBERAKER NECKBREAKER! The fans cheer while Zach scrambles away and Myron tags in. Myron runs up, The Bucks dodge to double kick.
The Bucks double whip but Myron ducks the lariats. Matt switches with Myron and feeds to Nick for a waistlock. Myron BOOTS Matt, switches with Nick, but Nick switches back. Matt runs up, SUNSET GERMAN SUPLEX! The fans cheer while Myron flounders away. The Bucks go back for Myron, bring him up, and put him in the ropes. They mug Myron but Zach goes after The Bucks. Zach whips, Nick reverses, but Zach puts Nick on the apron. Matt runs up, LARIAT ENZIGIRI SANDWICH! Then a CATAPULT into the GAMANGIRI! Nick goes up, DOUBLE STOMP BACKBREAKER, and a somersault into the BACKSTABBER on Myron!
The fans fire up with The Bucks as they stand tall, and Matt brings Myron around. Tag to Nick, he CLUBS Myron, then The Bucks double whip. Myron ducks ‘n ‘dodges, shoves Matt into Nick, and then reaches for Zach! Nick reels Myron in and back suplexes, but Myron lands out. Matt is there to back suplex but Myron lands out. Myron slides under, UP KICKS Matt, and he avoids Nick’s senton! Myron crawls and hot tags Zach! The fans cheer as Zach rallies with forearms and elbows, then he CHOPS Nick! Winner: Thekla, by pinfall (still AEW Women’s World Champion)
Another fight, another dirty tactic! But in the end, even Windsor fell into the Toxic Spider’s trap! Will anyone ever get wise to Thekla’s tricks? Or will AEW always be toxic?
My Thoughts:
A great Collision, though kinda hard to follow that great Dynamite from last night. A lot of these matches felt like filler, but because it’s AEW, they even make filler go above and beyond. Pac VS Lio was actually the first real display of this “Problem Child” persona that I really liked. Lio got to show more personality, and seeing Pac & Garcia be afraid of Lio really helped sell the character. Great win for Pac, though, and maybe he goes for the TNT title next. Brody, Mistico y Dorada of course won their match, but again, they made the squash match a fun match. Them mentioning Bandido and Supercard of Honor was nice, it means they care about ROH on some level.
Very good opening promo from Cope, but of course FTR had to show up. RPG Vice attacking again was redundant, but The Bucks making the save was a nice change. Makes me think we’re getting an 8 Man Tag, FTRPG Vice VS Cope, Cage & The Bucks, and that somehow leads to the tag title match for Double or Nothing. Great tag match from The Bucks VS The Rascalz, and even a good move for The Dogs to go after those teams. I wonder if The Dogs and even The Rascalz get in on the tag match. Five, maybe even six teams, all fighting for the titles, that’d be awesome stuff for Double or Nothing, and a great way to give The Bucks their historic fourth reign.
Kris & Shida had a very good tag match and of course they won, but I like Mina accusing Shida of being whodunnit. Shida is certainly being two-faced, but who knows if she’ll be chosen as the one who took out Toni Storm. Great Six Man Tag from Conglomeration VS Lethal Twist, and of course The Conglomeration won. Great Continental Championship Eliminator, and great showing for Nick Wayne in his return to Dynamite. I still think he needs more to do with the ROH World TV title, but hey, they could use this to say Nick won some respect from Moxley. The story still feels like Moxley and Ospreay will run it back at Double or Nothing.
And as I figured from last night, Thekla was gonna cheat to win and keep the title. It was a great main event, but there might be something bigger in store for Double or Nothing, like a Triple Threat against both Brawling Birds.
