The Briscoes VS Best Friends!

#DemBoyz have declared it’s Sandy Fork VS Everybody when it comes to the ROH World Tag Team Championships. They went after the Motor City Machine Guns through this pursuit, but ended up running over Trent Baretta & Chuck Taylor on the way. Now Baretta & The Kentucky Gentleman want payback to ruin the Briscoes’ momentum.

However, the Briscoes don’t wait for the bell and handshakes, they blindside Best Friends while they’re on the apron!

The bell rings while Mark goes after Chuckie T and Jay goes after Baretta. They put Chuckie in the ring then mug him in the middle of the ring. The referee breaks things up and it sorts out into Mark going after Chuckie. Chuckie turns things around to chop and punch Mark back, then he brings Mark over to tag in Baretta. Baretta dropkicks Jay down, then double whips with Chuckie T to double elbow Mark down. Mark ends up in a corner, Chuckie starts up a train with a forearm smash. Baretta adds his, then repeat with clotheslines, and a hug!
Jay returns and boots Chuckie out, but Baretta kicks Jay out. Baretta returns to Mark, giving him a sharp chop before a whip. Mark reverses and Jay returns to elbow Baretta down! The Briscoes stomp Baretta, then throw him out. Mark goes to the apron to boot Chuckie down before dragging Baretta back up. He suplexes Baretta to the ground while Jay uppercuts Chuckie. #DemBoyz aer in control while we go to break.
ROH returns to Mark squeezing Baretta in a cobra clutch. He puts Baretta into a cover, TWO, but he drags Baretta up into a fireman’s carry. Baretta slips out but Mark keeps him away from his corner. They go into an open corner instead, Mark ramming Baretta into buckles. Mark chops Baretta, then fireman’s carry again, but Baretta slips out to run the ropes for a tornado DDT! Mark flounders and the fans rally while both men head for their corners. Hot tags to Jay and Chuckie, but it’s the Kentucky Gentleman that rallies on the Briscoes!
Chuckie chops and chops then whips but Jay reverses. Chuckie hurdles over and catches the huricanrana into a powerbomb! TWO, but Chuckie keeps focused. He drags Jay up, but Jay blocks the suplex. Chuckie rocks Jay with rights but Jay rocks Chuckie back with a dropkick. Tag to Mark and the Briscoes double whip Chuckie corner to corner. Mark runs in but Chuckie boots him away. Chuckie dodges Jay, and Baretta runs in to back elbow Jay in the corner. The Best Friends have Mark, and feed him a Sole Food German Suplex! Mark staggers up but then tumbles out of the ring, brother Jay regroups with him. The fans rally for Best Friends, and Baretta builds speed to FLY!

Baretta takes out #DemBoyz, and then feeds Mark to Chuckie. The fans chant for Chuckie as he scoops, Baretta returns for the long dart cutter! Cover, TWO! Chuckie drags Mark up and tags Baretta back in. Fans duel with “Man up!” “Best Friends!” while Baretta throws Mark into Chuckie’s knee! Baretta picks Mark up while Chuckie climbs up. But Jay returns and shoves Chuckie down! Baretta goes after Jay but ends up in Mark’s exploder! Baretta ends up in a corner but boots Mark back. He runs out but into Mark’s clobbering clothesline! Mark tags Jay, and Jay goes after Baretta, but Baretta turns the neckbreaker into a back slide, TWO! Jay gets the double underhook, but Baretta denies the Driller, only to take another clobbering clothesline!
Mark sees Chuckie returning so he takes Chuckie out with a wrecking ball dropkick. Jay drags Baretta up while Mark climbs up. Jay Driller!

And Froggy-Bow!

Jay covers, The Briscoes win! Mark looks at the camera as he tells Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin that the Briscoes are gonna “kill y’all boys and take back our property.” However, the Motor City Machine Guns appear to take the fight to them!

Sabin & Shelley are back to 100% as they stomp mudholdes into Jay & Mark, respectively. Then Shelley gets the Briscoes’ chain! Shelley chokes Mark with the chain while Sabin steals the Jay Driller!

Sabin & Shelley show they’re willing to go just as extreme as #DemBoyz. Who will survive when it’s Sandy Fork VS Motor City?

ROH takes a look back at last week’s World Television Championship match.
The K I N G finally got his rematch, but it was more of the same from the Last Real Man and his buddies, the Beer City Bruiser & Brian Milonas. Therefore, the Enforcer of Honor, Bully Ray, appeared! He banished Bruiser & Milonas from ringside, making the match a fair 1v1 affair. Kenny King would then defeat Silas Young to become the new Two-Time ROH WTVC! He reigns atop his throne once more, but will he be leaving Las Vegas with it?
ROH recaps the WOH Championship Tournament so far.
While Deonna Purrazzo made Holidead tap out and Brandi Rhodes surprised Karen Q, we have our first quarterfinal match set after Kelly Klein defeated Bonesaw Brooks to meet Mandy Leon, who dethroned Queen Bee, Madison Rayne.

There are still the four Stardom participants, Kagetsu, HZK, Hana Kimura and Mayu Iwatani, and the other four ROH participants in Jenny Rose, Sumie Sakai, Stacy Shadows and newest edition, Tenille Dashwood. Get caught up on the first four matches via Honor Club, or ROH’s Women of Honor Wednesdays YouTube playlist, all before the WOH Championship Tournament returns to ROH TV next week!
Christopher Daniels w/ SoCal Uncensored VS Hangman Adam Page!

The Fallen Angel and his allies in the Heavy Metal Rebel and The Closer went after the Young Bucks last week after losing, so The Bullet Club’s Problem Solver came out to run them off. Now Daniels and Page go 1v1 to wrap things up before their major rematch for the ROH World Six Man Tag Team Championships at the 16th Anniversary Show. Will the Almighty Ring General or the “Hung Man” give their team one last edge before arriving in Las Vegas for a Street Fight?

But before things begin, the Enforcer appears!

Bully Ray publicly thanks the Bullet Club for earlier, because they are honoring his orders to have no one else ringside. Bully gives the Bullet Club a Too Sweet. Don’t worry, Bully can still do it, even if Bullet Club can’t. However, SoCal Uncensored clearly didn’t listen, so “here’s the deal.” Either Kaz and Scorpio leave by the count of 5, not only will Daniels be disqualified, but he’ll be suspended for 30 days, forcing the trio to miss the 16th Anniversary Show and the Six Man Tag title match. With some help from the fans, the count begins! Kaz and Scorpio realize Bully is serious, and just barely make it to the stage at 5. With that, Bully says, “Ring the bell, start the match, kick his ass, Page!”
The bell rings, and Page unloads on Daniels in a corner! He stomps but then the ref backs him off. Page comes back to stomp a mudhole, and the fans chant “Let’s go, Hangman!” for the Problem Solver. Daniels kicks back and puts Page in a corner, then another, then chops and forearms in return. He whips Page corner to corner but Page blasts out with a lariat. Daniels rolls out, Page builds speed but Daniels dodges. Page slides out and rocks Daniels with a haymaker, then throws Daniels into barriers. He puts Daniels into more barriers, then even more barriers!
Page drags Daniels up but Daniels retreats. Page pursues and sharply chops Daniels. He puts Daniels in the ring as the 20-count reaches 14, then fetches a chair! Page tosses the chair in, but the referee throws it out because this is not the Street Fight. Daniels bails out to the apron but Page drags him up, into a sleeper hold against the ropes! He hangs Daniels up in that hangman’s sleeper, but lets go at 4 to avoid disqualification. Daniels shoulders back in, then hotshots Page back, before clobbering him from behind. Daniels catches his breath while we go to break.
ROH returns to Daniels holding Page down in a chinlock. The fans rally while Page stands up and fights out. Page then runs, but into a Blue Thunder Bomb! TWO, and Daniels is frustrated. Daniels drags Page up to chop him in the back of the head, and again. Page gets fired up from the chops and that elbow to the head. He chops back, Daniels forearms, so Page forearms. Daniels gives another, Page returns it, but Daniels comes back for another. Page gives a heavier right, then spins for the roaring elbow! Down goes Daniels while the fans applaud.
Page fires himself up and the fans rally for him. He runs corner to corner to chop Daniels, then whips corner to corner for another. Another whip but Daniels reverses, Page goes up and over to speed things up, tilt-o-whirl into a powerbomb! Then, mule kick! Daniels rolls out, the fans fire up, and Page builds speed to Shooting Star from the apron!

Page topples Daniels down again, then drags Daniels up and into the ring. He takes aim from the apron, slingshot for the Buck- No, Daniels ducks and rolls Page, TWO, but jackknife cover off the rebound! TWO but Page bridges out into a backslide. Daniels reverses to double underhook but Page reverses out of that with a back body drop. Daniels counters again with a sunset flip, which Page rolls out of, but Page swings into a yurinagi throw. He hurries to the corner for the Best Moonsault Ever, but lands on his feet when Page rolls away. Page gets to a corner, and boots Daniels away, but Daniels throws him to an apron. Daniels runs, but into the Buck Shot!

Cover, Page wins! The Problem Solver brings a clean sweep over SoCal Uncensored, but Daniels has a Plan B! He anchors Page’s leg while the Notorious Hitman, Shane Taylor, ambushes him!

Taylor is not part of SoCal Uncensored so he’s not banned from ringside. He rams knees into Page, then whips Page corner to corner for a big clothesline. Taylor then takes aim, and takes Page out with the One Hitter Quitter right hand! Daniels gets in Page’s face, shouting “That’s what you get! Bullet Club is dead!” Then Daniels confirms, “This was the best money I ever spent!” He raises his Hitman’s hand victoriously, will this be foreshadowing of a Sin City success for SoCal Uncensored?

But wait, The Enforcer returns.

Bully Ray warns Daniels, but Daniels brings up his loophole. Shane bumps Bully on the way to the back, and things are tense while we go to break. What will be the consequences of working around the Code of Honor?
Jay Lethal & Dalton Castle w/ The Boys VS Marty Scurll & Punishement Martinez!

Before The Franchise challenges The Peacock, before the Monster and Villain fight for a chance of their own, these enemies must work as allies against the others. Can Lethal put his ROH World Heavyweight Championship aspirations aside long enough to win with Castle? Or will Martinez and Scurll prove they’re better than both even before going for gold?

The match starts with Martinez and Castle, a revisit from their recent ROH WHC match. Castle tells Scurll to stay by his corner, Scurll shows he’s holding the tag rope. Castle then talks to Martinez, but Martinez calls out Lethal. Lethal wants at Martinez, too, so Castle tags. Martinez and Lethal tie up, Martinez getting the headlock. Lethal pushes Martinez to ropes and powers out, but Martinez runs Lethal over with a shoulder. Martinez stands over Lethal as he sits up, then runs, but Lethal speeds things up as he jumps up and over a couple times. Martinez grabs Lethal around the throat but Lethal slips out of the choke slam. He shoves Martinez but Martinez blocks the hip toss. Martinez swings but Lethal ducks to chop back.
Martinez doesn’t budge, and swings kicks back, but Lethal dodges those to chop again. Still nothing, and Lethal dodges but Martinez counters, both men are at a stand still, and fans applaud. It’s here that Scurll wants in, calling for the tag. Fans want to see it, they chant “Too Sweet! Woop Woop!” Martinez reluctantly walks over, and tags Scurll in! The Villain slips in, the fans chanting for him, but Castle shouts, “Jay! I wanna piece of that!” Lethal obliges, he tags in Castle. The Peacock climbs into the ring and circles with Scurll. The fans duel while they tie up, Scurll gets the waistlock then pushes Castle to ropes. Scurll honors the ropebreak but gives a stiff shove. He taunts Castle, Castle comes out to pick up and throw Scurll to a corner.
Castle gets in Scurll’s face while Scurll calls for the break. The break is clean, Castle boops Scurll’s nose. Scurll comes back out and tie sup, to get the wristlock and arm wrench. Castle reverses while fans chant “Both These Guys!” Scurll spins and rolls to reverse back. He puts Castle into hammerlock to headlock to takeover, but Castle headscissors back. Scurll pops out and flaps his wings. He then offers a hand to Castle, and Castle goes to take it, but Scurll boops him back. Castle grins while Scurll celebrates, Scurll turns around into chops! Castle throws Scurll then tags in Lethal, Lethal keeps on Scurll. He whips then runs Scurll over with a back elbow, cover, TWO.
Lethal keeps on Scurll, then tags back to Castle. Lethal suplexes Scurll and Castle drags Scurll up into a suplex of his own. The Peacock then eyes his challenger and shows off his lean. Castle drags Scurll back over, Lethal tags back in, and Lethal shows off another suplex. Lethal even dares to try the Peacock lean! It’s a bit tricky so he just goes back to Scurll, only for Scurll to arm wring Lethal down. Lethal rolls out, Scurll gets to the apron, and apron superkicks Lethal! Scurll flaps his wings now that he’s back in control, and we go to break.
ROH returns to Martinez in, holding Lethal down with a chinlock and knee in the back. The fans rally, and Lethal gets to his feet. He fights out of the hold with elbows to the stomach, but Martinez throws in a knee. Martinez lifts Lethal into a torture rack, Psycho Driver but Lethal lands on his feet. Lethal ducks and hot tags to Castle and Scurll. The Peacock rallies on Villain and Monster, then catches Scurll’s kick into a single leg suplex! Scurll flounders into another suplex, then Castle grabs Scurll in a waistlock. Martinez rushes in but Castle counters with the back elbow. Martinez staggers back, and Castle hits his Peacock Pose! The Peacock gives a running knee to Martinez in the corner, then another, and another! Castle hits a fourth knee, but Scurll returns to waistlock Castle. Castle slips around to his own, for a big German Suplex!
pic22
The bridge is a bit unstable but Castle adjusts for a different cover, TWO! Castle drags Scurll up and to his corner, Lethal tags in. Castle rocks Scurll with a right then scoops while Lethal climbs up. Scurll slips out and shoves Castle at the corner, but Lethal leaps over. Scurll baits Lethal, into booting Castle! Lethal brushes it off to go after Scurll, but Scurll counters with Ghostbuster!
pic23
The fans fire up with Scurll as he calls for the hold. He gets them hooping and hollering, does his dance, and– Martinez tags in! Martinez goes after Lethal with the torture rack, Psycho Driver to curb stomp! Cover, TWO!! That shocks the Monster, but he doesn’t slow down. He stands up and waits for Lethal to stand up, but Scurll tags back in! Turn about is fair play, Martinez shoves Scurll right as Lethal flies in for a forearm smash. Martinez brawls with Lethal while Castle brawls with Scurll! The referee tries to regain order but no one listens. Lethal and Martinez tire out, but Scurll throws in a forearm, only to end up in Castle’s full nelson. Scurll fights out, then rocks Castle with a forearm. Scurll mule kicks Lethal, runs, but into the Lethal Combination!
Martinez comes over, Lethal lifts him in the fireman’s carry, but Martinez slips out for a ripcord roundhouse! Lethal is staggered, Martinez roars, then drags Lethal up for the discus lariat. Scurll returns and Martinez runs at Castle, but Castle catches him in the waistlock. Castle hits Martinez with a big German Suplex! Everyone is down, but the fans are fired up and chanting for “Dalton Castle!” Castle runs at Scurll but Scurll elbows him back. Scurll then suplexes Castle into buckles! Martinez gets back up and hits the big back elbow. Scurll runs at Lethal but Lethal throws him out. Lethal dodges Martinez to then DIVE on Scurll!

The Boys fan Castle, but Martinez grabs Boy 1 and throws him! Lethal climbs up and jumps in, but Martinez catches him by the throat. Lethal fights out of the choke grip while the referee is busy checking on Boy 1, then enziguris Martinez. SUPERKICK from Lethal, but Scurll runs in with a hand full of chalk powder! Lethal ducks, all that powder goes into Martinez’s face!

Lethal shoves Scurll into Martinez, and Martinez grabs Scurll by the throat! Scurll fights the blinded Martinez off, Castle clotheslines Martinez out of the ring, going with him! Scurll swings on Lethal, but Lethal ducks to handspring, LETHAL INJECTION!

Cover, Lethal & Castle win! It was a chaotic mess by the end, but challenger and champion come out on top. But instead of celebrating, Lethal makes sure to remind Castle that he’s coming for that ROH World Heavyweight Championship. Can The Franchise win big in Las Vegas to once again become the top wrestler in the company? Or will Castle’s reign continue on to make 2018 the Year of the Peacock?

ROH reviews the card for the 16th Anniversary Show!

Cody believes “Arrogance is a Kingdom without a crown.” Matt Taven has had a throne, a harem, the walking stick, and even stole Cody’s one true Ring of Honor. However, Taven is still king of NOTHING.
Taven responds by saying “The American Melvin” and “the epicenter of the cancer that infests Ring of Honor” better thank God that their match gets to be on PPV because now the whole world gets to watch Cody pucker up and #KissTheRing.
The Briscoes go after the MCMG for the ROH World Tag Team titles.

It’s nothing personal against Sabin & Shelley, because #DemBoyz have a vendetta against everybody. The MCMG are the tag team champions, but those titles are the Briscoes’ property, and they’re coming for what’s theirs.
If Jay & Mark wanted title shots, all they had to do was ask. But instead, #DemBoyz made it personal, so now they will just have to wait and see what the MCMG does in return. Jay & Mark have been in ROH for 16 years, but there won’t be a 17th after this.
SoCal Uncensored speak to the ROH World Six Man Tag Team Champions.

According to the SCU, The Young Bucks & Hangman Page are “out of your element”. This is going to be a Street Fight Party, and there will be a changing of the guard. At the 16th Anniversary, the SUPERKICK Party ends forever!
But the “Hung Bucks” respond, Las Vegas Street Fight will mean SoCal Uncensored, “you about to get your ASSES whooped!”
The Villain & The Monster compete to be the next ROH WHC #1 contender!

“Anniversaries are supposed to be about celebration.” The Villain knows that all this will be for the Purple Mist is #ASpotofBother. But Martinez responds, letting Scurll know that in Sin City, “the world finds out that the so-called Villain is just my next victim.”
And of course, the ROH World Championship match!

Live on PPV, Jay Lethal will show everyone why it’s his chance to get back “what is rightfully mine!” But The Peacock responds by saying he’s very excited. His belly is all shook up, but “don’t be confused.” Castle will still hit Lethal with everything he’s got to make sure he is still ROH WHC. When ROH hits Sin City, who will hit the jackpot? And who will completely bust?
My Thoughts:
This was the go-home to ROH’s 16th Anniversary Show, their Wrestlemania as it were, and they did quite a bit better than most other companies would with one of these. Except for all the same go-home promos they ran last week to end the show. Even if that was for those who missed last week, those promos didn’t need to be doubled up. If they left them out last week and then showed them all this week, fine, but not after seeing them last week, too. Then we also got only another update on the WOH instead of an actual match, but again, at least ROH gives several outlets for those who want to watch everything. We still get the tournament airing next week, Tenille Dashwood VS Stacy Shadows, we can already guess Tenille wins to keep her strong after her debut.
The matches that were on tonight were also all great, as usual for ROH. Briscoes VS Best Friends makes sense given the attack on them and MCMG a month ago, and Briscoes go over to stay strong going into the Anniversary Show. The MCMG getting even with them for the attacks was also great, and helps muddy the math so that no one can be sure where the result is going. Hangman beating Daniels 1v1 is a great thing for him, as Daniels has been every other kind of champion in ROH.
However, Daniels using Taylor as his ace might come into play in the Vegas Street Fight. Taylor may come in again to help SoCal Uncensored win, making Daniels an ROH Gran Slam Champion, and then starting something for Hangman in singles in the aftermath. Given the overall “Bullet Club is (not) Fine” story, Hangman going up against Taylor to then make his way up to the ROH WTVC would be great for this younger star going forward. Then there was a lot of great action and story in the main event tag. Thankfully there was no dysfunction on Team ROH WHC Match, just one-upmanship and only for a second. As for Team #1 Contender Match, there was a touch more dysfunction, and that ended up costing them. Either man could still come out to win that and challenge either Lethal or Castle, and either of them could be champion.
My Score: 8.5/10

They can go and enjoy their night.
Drake says okay, but if she needs literally anything at all, just shoot a text, they’re literally going right across the street. Go, queen! Love you! The Vanity Project heads out, but will they miss Blake’s last night as the deluded champion? Or will they get to join in on a glamorous celebration?

Tatum can’t wait to put Blake in that casket, that Shiloh personally made! And he’s dug the hole already!
Tatum seems down and Shiloh asks if that joke was too far. Tatum says no, she just worries Vanity Project will get in the way. Nothing to worry about! Shiloh helped arrange a date, and let’s just say, it’ll take them a while until that date shows up. Wait, who’d he set them up with? Don’t worry about that now. But next week, Shiloh gets a match with Ricky Saints! Shiloh & Tatum both hit the Absolute pose, and Shiloh wants to wish Tatum luck. Tatum thanks Shiloh as he heads out. Will Tatum truly put this feud to rest? Will Shiloh be absolutely ready for his match with Saints?

Vanity Project posts online.
Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes are keeping an eye on Jackson Drake as he waits on his date. They wanna see how hot the lady herself is, and maybe she brought some friends? Just don’t be obvious. Wait, is Drake alone? Drake says she’s yet to show. NO! What!? Did he get stood up?! Drake says he has no idea who this chick thinks she is, no-showing Dr. Thirst. Smokes says don’t take it personally, some girls are just the worst. Words of wisdom: Drake will live to love another day. But y’know who else took losses back in the day? LeBron James! If The King can take a loss, so can Drake. Let’s bounce, boys!
Wait, Bailey Humphrey turns the corner. Did she hear that they got stood up? U-Um… N-No…? Is Vanity Project in trouble? And if so, what kind?
DarkState regroups backstage.
Dion asks what happened out there, and Saquon says he was trying to help. Was he? Yes! He knows he messed up, but after the fight, he went right to Robert Stone. Saquon got them a rematch! The team fires up, and Dion says he owes Saquon. Dion guarantees he’s got Myles beat in the rematch. Well, that’s the thing. No doubt Dion would have, but it won’t be Dion getting this match. What? Saquon did everything he could to make sure Dion got his lick back, but Stone said something like Dion got his shot, and if DarkState was to get another one, it’d have to be Saquon. Is that what he said? Yes! And Saquon wasn’t gonna say no!
Saquon reminds Dion that this is about getting gold back in the fam by any means necessary! This is the means! Dion did mean that, didn’t he? Yes, Dion did mean that. Good! So next week, Saquon brings that North American Title home! Dion says hell yeah, brother! Cuz when DarkState strikes, ain’t nobody safe! But will the team hold it together and succeed with this second chance?

The Vanity Project keeps us updated.
It seems Drake is going through with his impromptu back-up date, and Smokes says that’s his boy! Drake asks “Mika” what’s her deal, and she says she used to be a mortician’s assistant. Dissecting bodies, stitching them up. Whoa, wait, she used to dissect corpses? Yes! Her hands have done some stuff. Wow, Drake says that is quite impressive. He’s never been so happy to be stood up, because let’s be honest, who needs to go on a date with this chick? Mika looks closer at the profile picture and says bro, that’s an AI bot! You didn’t get stood up, you got tricked! What? No, this is… Oh… Okay, Drake knows exactly who did this! SHILOH!
Mika says no need to ruin a perfectly good night, though. Let’s get some dinner. And uh, his cute little friends can join them if they want. W-Wait, who? Smokes & Brad? No, no, they don’t wanna come with. Uh, yes they do! Mika leads the way out, arm in arm with Drake. Mika SHOVES a dude in the way outta the way, and Drake says that’s kinda hot. Is Dr. Thirst about to have himself a tall drink of water tonight?
Lola Vice is here!
The fans cheer as the Mayor of Vice City struts to the ring, #AndStill the NXT Women’s Champion! Lola grabs a mic to say, “Hola, NXT!” “Hola, Lola!” Lola says last week, she didn’t just beat Jacy Jayne, but she made a statement! In her first defense, she showed us exactly the kind of champion she is going to be. The fans cheer that, but Lola does give Jacy credit, she elevated this division and completely reinvented herself. Lola will, too, but in her own way. And not to lie, the hardest part about being a champion isn’t winning the title, it’s keeping it. Lola feels it, she sees it. She knows all eyes are on her in the locker room.
The NXT Women’s Division is deep, hungry, and full of girls ready to have their moment. And none of them are waiting! Kendal, Kali, Izzi, Sol and Zaria, they all stepped up and made it clear they want what Lola has. Those women are not competition, they’re threats. And they all want Lola’s NXT Women’s Championship. But… Lola likes it that way! And she gets why. Holding this title could mean you’re a possible WrestleMania main-eventer one day! The fans cheer that! This title is the most important title to hold as a woman proving themself in the WWE! Lola is about ot be the realest champion, because this title deserves women who are willing to step up and take their shot!
Because Lola was that girl. And she still is that girl. So while she respects it, she understands it, she wants to make something very clear. You don’t just walk into Vice City and step up to the champ! You’re stepping into a fight! And you don’t just walk up to take what’s Lola’s! You can try. You can step up, you can take your shot, but all that will get you is knocked out and danced on! The fans like the sound of that, but Izzi Dame interrupts. Lola, it is so interesting listening to you. Lola’s talking like she’s already cleared out the division after just one defense. Granted, it was Jacy Jayne, so we’ll give Lola that.
But to circle back to what’s important, it’s Izzi. Lola called Izzi a threat, and thank you, it’s true. But Izzi wants to ask Lola, is she feeling it? The shift. The looks are sharper, the whispers are a little louder, and Lola’s rather emotional. Every time she steps in the ring, she has to prove something. The woman standing across from her has to be knocked out in order for Lola to prove she belongs. And that works, until it doesn’t. While Lola swings on everything that moves, Izzi is watching, learning, and waiting for the exact moment when Lola makes a mistake. And no doubt about it, Lola will make a mistake.
And Lola keeps saying this is Vice City, this is her world. But having that mindset means Lola isn’t a champion that losses in big moments, but loses in small ones. Izzi isn’t stepping into Lola’s fight, but into Lola’s weak spot, and she will rip Lola apart! Every crack, every doubt, every second slipping away, Lola will feel everything. And when it’s over and Izzi is the NEW NXT Women’s Champion, Lola won’t be cursing Izzi’s name, she’ll be thanking Izzi! Lola laughs and says Izzi and everyone else, all that studying, that waiting, it’s just hesitation. So go ahead, take your shot, wait for the right moment. Because by the time she does, she’ll already get her ass kicked!
Izzi says don’t tempt her with a good time, mamacita! One thing Lola learns about The Culling is that they’re always two steps ahead. That’s why Izzi will be champion. Niko Vance swipes at Lola’s Mixed Tag title, Lola gets on guard, but Izzi BOOTS her down! The fans boo as Izzi snatches the NXT Women’s Championship off Lola, but will she do it when it matters?
Birthright regroups backstage.
Sarah Schreiber is there to congratulate the NEW WWE Speed Champion. Though, the circumstances were a bit questionable. Lexis says, “Questionable? Ma’am, do you have any idea who you’re talking to right now? I am the fastest man alive! Let’s face it, NXT finally has a champion that was born to do this. Not one of these pompous college recruits, or some indie degenerate that we pulled up off the street. No, a real star! Stars, in fact, that’s plural. And we’re not gonna stop until each and every one of them has gold around their waists. Because this right here, Sarah, is our birthright.”
But EK Prosper storms in! He tells Lexis that they gotta run that one back, because if it wasn’t for Lexis’ sorry ass crew, Lexis wouldn’t even be champion. Dempsey says EK lost, get over it. But then Dorian Van Dux steps in, and he points out “these clowns will never fight fair.” But DVD will gladly team with EK against whichever two are brave enough. Uriah says if DVD wants in the ring with generational talent like them, consider your career over before it even begins. Arianna says now that Birthright has another title in the collection, they can make this happen. See you two next week. As for right now, they have a coronation to attend! Bottles on King!
Birthright heads out, but will they keep the momentum going in tag team action? Or will they see that EK + DVD = W?
NXT presents Chronicle: Kendal Grey, part 2.
Before coming to the Performance Center, the Ice Woman was a three-time UNDEFEATED National Champion! She was the first girl to qualify for an all men’s tournament in the state of Nevada. She is not the first woman to list all her accolades, but amateur wrestling was her entire life. Growing up in Vegas was an incredible experience, too. When you think “Las Vegas,” you think The Strip, the nightlife, but for her, it was the fight capital of the world. She wasn’t drawn to the lights, but to the competition. At school, she competed against the guys. So many people said girls shouldn’t wrestle, let alone wrestle boys, but for her, that was just natural growing up with a big brother.
Everything was competition. When she hung out with her friends, it was really her brother and his 20 friends playing football, baseball, whatever. They’d even be backyard with gloves on, wrestling until someone tapped out. She definitely is a tomboy, but she owns it. She got that from her mom, who didn’t like to dress up or do make-up. And she and her dad would bond through sports and outdoor activities. She has an embarrassing story about that. They go to a Mets game, eating soft pretzels and chilling, and then BOOM, foul ball hits her! Of course, that’s her luck. Mom would tease her as “The Problem Child” cuz she was always getting hurt, getting scars.
One time at a barbeque, she was 12 years old. Even though there was a ton of food around, this dog just decides to jump up and bite her lip off! Then in high school during a match, Kendal and her opponent go for a grapple at the same time, and she gets her forehead split open! She’s just a magnet for bad luck. But regardless, Kendal was obsessed with wrestling. She lived on the mat. The technique, the pressure, the pace, she loved it all. But especially with winning. And while she knows she said she hates talking about herself, she’s actually glad she took this time to sit down and talk, because the NXT Universe deserves to get to know her.
But for now, there’s a ton of work to be done, and she won’t stop until she has her hands on THE NXT Women’s Championship. NXT is about to enter the Grey Area, will Kendal come out on the other side with gold?
Robert Stone talks with Lola Vice.
Fortunately, Lola is okay after that sucker kick from Izzi. But she just has to even the odds. And she has the perfect person in mind. Wait, what’s going around the corner? Stone hurries over, and Saints is beating up on Shiloh! Saints says play games with him now! Stone is furious, what is Saints doing in his office?! Saints says here’s your phone back. Saints says he’s beating Shiloh’s ass next week! Stone calls for a ref, it seems Saints sprung a trap on the unorthodox genius. But will he be ready to fight #ToothlessAggression fair and square?
NXT returns as Sarah Schreiber catches up to Robert Stone.
Naturally, she asks for a medical update on Shiloh after Saints’ sneak attack, but all Stone can say is he’s headed to medical right now, so he’ll give us one when he gets one. Stone then turns the corner and sees Tony D’Angelo. Stone says great timing, he was also looking for him. But then a staff member says this box just arrived for Tony…? Tony accepts, those he isn’t sure what the Japanese kanji on it means. Stone says he was hoping to talk with the champ, he’s still sorting things out, but next week, he’ll have a better idea of who Tony’s next challenger will be. Tony then spots Keanu Carver passing by.
Tony asks if this delivery is from Kenau. Keanu says nah, if he wants someone’s attention, he’ll just get it. But that right there is the kanji for war. There are sharks circling, Tony of all people should know to be ready. Keanu heads out, Stone says that’s not wrong, Stone’s phone has been blowing up. But then, will whatever is inside the box be a clue as to who wants Tony’s attention?
Last Woman Standing: Sol Ruca VS Zaria!
We already know how much these two have grown to hate each other when their friendship’s dysfunction turned into disdain. Ironically, they still made it to the biggest show of NXT’s year together, but it was only the Soul Surfer that could stand and deliver on a win. Will Sol get one last win on her former friend? Or will the Agent of Change truly change the landscape of NXT?
NXT returns ringside as Zaria’s music hits. But while Sol’s looking to the ramp, Zaria slips in from the crowd side! Sol turns around, but she dodges in time! THESZ PRESS and fast hands as the bell rings! Zaria shoves Sol away but Sol BOOTS her back! Sol LARIATS Zaria up and out! The fans rally as Sol goes to the apron, springboard TORNILLO! Down goes Zaria at the ramp and the fans cheer! Sol smiles as she watches Zaria writhe. The count starts but Zaria is already crawling. Zaria stands at 5 of 10 and stumbles to barriers. Sol runs up, but into a BOOT! Zaria has a trash can already, and she CHUCKS it at Sol! Sol goes down in a heap!
Sol flounders, crawls, but Zaria wants the count to go faster! The ref keeps the pace fair, so Zaria storms up. Sol swings a kendo stick, but Zaria blocks it! Zaria YANKS the stick away, BOOTS Sol, then gets the can! But Sol SHOTGUNS it into Zaria! Both women are down while the fans fire up! The count starts again, Sol rises up while Zaria crawls. Sol storms up on Zaria, but Zaria LASHES her with camera cables! And LASHES her again! And again! The fans wince as Sol writhes, but Zaria CHOKES Sol with the cable! Zaria even gags and DRAGS Sol to the apron, and DANGLES her off the edge!!
The fans are freaking out while Sol kicks and flails! Zaria DROPS Sol, then stands over her while the count starts again. Sol sputters and sits up at 4, but Zaria drags her up! Sol SMACKS her with a trash can lid! Zaria stumbles away, Sol storms in, but Zaria swings with the kendo stick! Sol dodges to hit the X-FACTOR! Zaria is now under the count while the fans rally and duel. Sol has the kendo stick again, and she sees Zaria stand at 6. SMACK! SMACK! And SMACK again! Sol then fires off with the kendo stick on Zaria’s back! Zaria writhes while the fans fire up. Sol paces around Zaria while fans chant, “One More Time!”
Sol clamps onto Zaria with a kendo stick Camel Clutch, and STOMP! The fans cheer Sol while she tells Zaria that this is what she wanted. The count passes 5 but Zaria goes to the apron. Zaria drags herself up at 8, then drops to a knee. Sol SLINGSHOT SUNSET FLIPS, but Zaria holds onto the ropes! Sol pulls, pulls, and POWER- NO! Zaria fights with fists to get free! Then she BOOTS Sol down! The fans fire up while both women are down again! The fans chant for “TABLE! TABLE!” as both women rise. Zaria and Sol crawl to each other at 7, and stand at 8. Zaria fireman’s carries Sol, but Sol fights free of the F5! Sol SPEARS Zaria through the wall!!
The fans lose their minds while both women are down underneath The Perch! The count is climbing, Sol stands at 6 and hobbles away. Zaria rises at 8, stands at 9, but both women flop back down! The fans cheer as NXT goes picture in picture.
Sol stands at 5 again, then clears off the commentary desk! The fans like what they see as Sol makes sure everything is pushed aside, but then Zaria CHUCKS a water bottle at her! Right in the back! Zaria then THROWS Sol over barriers! Zaria then climbs up and over to join Sol, and they brawl in the crowd! The fans cheer as they’re even closer to the action now! Sol ROCKS Zaria, but Zaria ROCKS Sol! Zaria ROCKS Sol again as they go up the stands! Sol hits back, Zaria shoves fans aside, and she makes Sol take a seat for a CHOP! Zaria HAMMERS Sol, brings her around, but Sol hits back! Sol CLUBS away on Zaria no w!

Then as they both wobble, Zaria manages to fireman’s carry! The fans go nuts for the F5 down through the desk!!
Zaria stands tall on the barriers while Sol is under the count. Sol is still down past 5, but rises at 7! Zaria decides to go look for something as Sol stands at 8. Sol leans against the apron, but she falls again. The count is on Sol again, but Zaria brings a table out! Zaria stands it up on one end, but Sol GERMAN SUPLEXES Zaria first! The fans fire up as Sol then SHINING WIZARDS! Both women are down but the fans fire up again! The count is back, and Sol keeps her eyes on Zaria as she stands at 5. Zaria sputters, drags herself up at 8, and stands at 9! Sol takes that table for her own, stands it up on the legs, and she looks to the Perch?!
Zaria SMACKS Sol off the table first! Then the POST! Zaria goes looking, and she SHOVES things aside so she can bring out another table! Zaria positions this table right next to the first, CLUBS Sol, then finishes arranging the furniture. “This is Awesome!” as Zaria also looks to The Perch… Zaria storms up to Sol, but Sol JAMS her up with a piece of the desk! And then SMACKS her on her back! Sol puts Zaria on the table, and it is now the drop zone as Sol climbs up! The fans are fired up already as Sol goes to The Perch! Sol is fifteen feet high as she looks down at Zaria! Except, Zaria isn’t there anymore?!
The fans are going nuts already as Zaria is behind Sol again! Sol says don’t do it! Zaria still runs up, Sol hurdles over! Zaria stops herself from going over, but SOUL SNATCHER on the perch!! The fans are going nuts again as both women are down! The ref hurries to check them, then starts the count! Sol already sits up at 3, then drags herself up at 6. Sol sees Zaria stand at 9, and ROCKS her! Zaria ROCKS Sol back! They go shot for shot, back and forth, but Zaria is dangerously close to the edge! Zaria ROCKS Sol, Sol ROCKS Zaria, repeat! The shots are fast ‘n’ furious and the fans are loving it! Sol ROCKS Zaria, but then keeps Zaria from falling!?
Zaria asks Sol to show mercy! She’s sorry! Sol pulls Zaria away from the edge, and the fans aren’t sure what to make of it. Sol and Zaria are both emotional, and they hug it out! The fans cheer, maybe there’s hope for #ZaRuca yet. But then… the look on Zaria’s face says otherwise. Zaria SHOVES Sol down through the tables!! The fans are speechless as Sol really only goes through the one and not the other… But the count is climbing, and there’s no stopping it! Sol is down, ZARIA WINS!
Winner: Zaria
Zaria said Sol was the villain, but only an evil mastermind would pull at the heartstrings just to rip them out like that! Sol is down, both physically and emotionally, will she ever recover? Will Zaria’s cold-blooded nature finally lead her to gold?
My Thoughts:
A great second week for the first-ever NXT Revenge special, they can probably make this an annual thing. Though, that ending to the Last Woman Standing was a bit scary. They were smart to have two tables there for a bigger drop zone, but they still miscalculated Sol’s fall in the moment. She clips that table edge pretty badly, so hopefully she’s okay. Another point towards my argument that taking physics classes is a must for pro-wrestlers, and surely the WWE Performance Center can figure out how to do that. But even with that scary ending, that was a great Last Woman Standing match, and it worked so well in story for Zaria to win out, and the way she did it.
Great Casket Match for Tatum VS Blake, and I like the side gag that Vanity Project was away with a date. Great spot for Bailey Humphrey to get TV time, and she clearly owns the fact that she’s a country strong girl. Blake’s unofficial title coming into play for the finish was genius, but I’m actually a touch surprised Blake lost. I feel like Blake can move on to the top title now while Tatum defends the North American title against a lot of other contenders. Great promo segment from Lola and Izzi to set up that title match, but Izzi is definitely losing that to help build Lola up. And I’m pretty sure the person she’s gonna get to help her is Mr. Iguana, his interactions with Shawn Spears & Niko Vance will be great.
Very good stuff with Shiloh and Saints, their match is going to be great stuff. Very good Men’s North American Championship match, and DarkState accidentally costing Dion was a great way to do this. Especially with Saquon now getting the title shot next week. I don’t know if we get a second take on what we just got, but I also don’t know if Saquon wins the title. But one way or another, this has to add to the dysfunction between Saquon and Dion, forcing Cutler and Osiris to choose sides. Very good Speed Championship match, but as I figured, Lexis won with help from Birthright. DVD stepping up to be EK’s teammate is good stuff, they’ll have a great match with I assume Uriah & Dempsey.
Great match of Keanu VS Hendry, and I really like them going with a ref stoppage. Keanu is already monster, now he’s a savage. Though, to think this is how Hendry is exiting NXT to go to main roster. I wonder if his next concert promo addresses this. As for Keanu, they continue to keep him orbiting the NXT Championship. Tony D getting a mysterious box with Japanese on it, there are a few options. I don’t want it to be Nakamura coming back to NXT just to lose to Tony D, Nakamura needs to do more with Tama Tonga and MFT. This could/should be someone from Pro-wrestling Noah, like a returning Yoshiki Inamura or someone else building up his stardom, like Kaito Kiyomiya or Kenoh. Imagine if it was Kenta, formerly Hideo Itami in NXT…
My Score: 8.9/10
