Since being called up to the WWE’s main roster as a part of the Monday Night RAW brand the night after WrestleMania 34 on April 9th, Akam and Rezar, collectively known as The Authors Of Pain, have been very seldom seen.

The last time we saw the former NXT Tag Team Champions was on May 16th episode of WWE Main Event in a victory over Titus O’Neil and Apollo Crews. Recently, there were reports that WWE didn’t have anything lined up on television for The Authors Of Pain, which is why they haven’t been used much since making the jump to the red brand. Today however, it appears there’s a little more to the story.

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, one member of The Authors Of Pain has been having issues with his work visa, contributing to their lack of use. Additionally, it’s being said that the issue has been resolved, but WWE still does not have anything for them at the moment as they focus on pushing The B-Team (Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel) along with the team of Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre. It was also noted that WWE doesn’t want The Authors Of Pain to be “just another team”, which is why they’ve been held off despite the visa issues being rectified. It’s expected that Akam and Rezar will return to television when more focus can be put on the tandem.

EA’s Take: I don’t really have a whole lot to say about this outside of the obvious question, why did you even bring them up in the first place? Get Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre out of the Tag Team Division, there’s zero reason for them to be in there and you can still push them as a pairing like I’ve called for a la Shawn Michaels and Diesel. This is just proof that long-term planning in WWE is lost.
