CMLL Coverage

Catching up on CMLL is easy with Joe Dinan’s weekly look at the results and happenings!

Apologies to all, I’m going to give the results and details on anything storyline wise for this weeks shows. I’ve had a super busy week with family related stuff and only had one day free. CMLL has one of their four big shows next week. Unsure if it’ll be an Ippv or not but i will get to the shows for sure next week.

Arena Puebla Monday

Rey Samuray and El Asturiano vs Police Man and Black Tiger

Police Man and Tiger won 2 out of 3 falls.

Winners: Police Man and Black Tiger

Triton, Stigma, and Pegasso vs Espanto Jr, Toro Bill Jr, and El Malayo

Triton apparently hurt his leg during this match. We aren’t sure of the extent. Triton, Stigma, and Pegasso won 2 out of 3 falls.

Winners: Triton, Stigma, and Pegasso

King Jaguar, Soberano Jr, and Flyer vs Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, and Cavernario

Niebla, Negro Casas, and Cavernario won 2 falls out of 3. Interesting note is King Jaguar who is as low on the card as you can be got his teams only fall by submitting Negro Casas.

Winners: Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, and Cavernario

(Tag Team Tournament) Caristico and Hijo del Villano III, Mistico and Ephesto, Terrible and Niebla Roja, Sanson and Audaz, Atlantis and Vangellys, Valiente and Felino, Templario and Esfinge, Volcano and Luciferno

Round 1: Audaz and Sanson defeated Luciferno and Volcano. Caristico and Hijo del Villano III defeated Atlantis and Vangellys. Niebla Roja and Terrible defeated Esfinge and Templario. Ephesto and Mistico defeated Felino and Valiente.

Round 2: Caristico and Hijo del Villano III defeated Audaz and Sanson. Niebla Roja and Terrible defeated Ephesto and Mistico.

Finals: Niebla Roja and Terrible defeated Caristico and Hijo del Villano III.

They will face Volador and Mephisto next week in the finals of this Puebla exclusive tournament. It’s to be seen what will happen. Volador is dealing with some nagging injuries.

Winners: Niebla Roja and Terrible

Arena Mexico Tuesday

Reports coming out of this show was this was a very good show so if you have time and have a wrestling hang over after AEW and wanna keep drinking give this show and the main event of Friday a watch.

Sonic and Leono vs Grako and El Coyote

Sonic and Leono defeated Grako and Coyote 2 falls out of 3.

Winners: Sonic and Leono

Halcon Suriano Jr, Magia Blanca, and Oro Jr vs Disturbio, Hijo del Signo, and Sangre Azteca

Halcon Suriano, Magia Blanca, and Oro Jr defeated Disturbio, Signo, and Sangre Azteca 2 falls out of 3.

Winners: Halcon Suriano Jr, Magia Blanca, and Oro Jr

(Match Relampago) Star Jr vs El Sagrado

This match went to a rare draw. This was said by those on the ground to be a very good match and would have been one of the better lightning matches in any other year other than this one since we’ve had so many good ones. Star Jr worked super hard. Sagrado beat him up after the match.

Winner: Draw

Blue Panther, El Audaz, and Guerrero Maya vs Polvora, Universo 2000 Jr, and Tiger

Blue Panther, Audaz, and Maya defeated Polvora, Universo, and Tiger 2 falls out of 3. This was also said to be a good match. Audaz and Tiger both working super hard.

Winners: Blue Panther, El Audaz, and Guerrero Maya

Kraneo, Rey Cometa, and Flyer vs Mephisto, Hechicero, and Rey Bucanero

Kraneo, Cometa, and Flyer defeated Mephisto, Hechicero, and Bucanero 2 falls out of 3.

Winners: Kraneo, Rey Cometa, and Flyer

Atlantis, Angel de Oro, and Niebla Roja vs Rush, El Terrible, and Bestia del Ring

Rush, Terrible, and Bestia won two falls straight. Rush faked getting hit in the groin tricking the ref. Angel de Oro challenged Rush next week and a brawl ensued afterwards.

Winners: Rush, El Terrible, and Bestia del Ring

Arena Mexico Friday

Magnus and Robin vs Raziel and Cancerbero

Cancerbero and Raziel defeated Magnus and Robin 2 falls out of 3. It was just a standard match.

Winners: Cancerbero and Raziel

Blue Panther Jr, Fuego, and Black Panther vs Virus, Misterioso, and Kawato San

The Panthers and Fuego defeated Virus, Misterioso, and Kawato San 2 falls out of 3. An interesting out come considering Virus is facing Metalico in a retirement match next Friday. Either someone is retiring or someone’s contract is up. Who knows. You’d figure they’d keep him strong but maybe it’s a window into what’s going to happen.

Winners: Blue Panther Jr, Fuego, and Black Panther

Kaho Kobayashi, Estrellita, Princesa Sugehit vs Amapola, Dalys, and Metalica

Amapola, Dalys, and Metalica defeated Kaho, Estrellita, and Sugehit 2 falls out of 3. Amapola and Kaho Kobayashi are facing each other in a hair vs hair match next Friday as well. Neither are going to light the world on fire but there has been extra emotion in these matches building up to it.

Winners: Amapola, Dalys, and Metalica

El Valiente, Soberano Jr, and Stuka Jr vs Gran Guerrero, Templario, and Euforia

Gran, Templario, and Euforia defeated Valiente, Soberano, and Stuka 2 falls out of 3. Nothing major happened here. Interesting to see father and a son on different teams (Soberano and Euforia)

Winners: Gran  Guerrero, Templario, and Euforia

Ultimo Guerrero, Negro Casas, and El Felino vs Mascara Ano 2000, Cuatrero, and Forastero

Mascara Ano, Cuatrero, and Forastero defeated Felino, Casas, and Ultimo Guerrero in 2 straight falls. Gran Guerrero and Euforia interfered in this match attacking Los Dinamitas for the DQ. Of course as I’ve spoken about on my weekly analysis Ultimo Guerrero and Mascara Ano 2000 are having a hair vs hair match. A lot of stipulation matches on this next Friday show.

Winners: Mascara Ano 2000, Cuatrero, and Forastero

Mistico vs Cavernario

Mistico defeated Cavernario 2 falls out of 3. This was a very good match going around 20 minutes. This was said to be almost a break out match for Mistico who is usually over shadowed by Caristico who everyone knows is the former Mistico (Aka Sin Cara the original). He put on a good performance. We’ll see what CMLL does to keep his momentum going, if at all.

Winner: Mistico
