But before even hitting the ring, the Bucks have to fight off Numbers 3, 4 and 5! The Beaver Boys and Alan Angels are all over Matt and Nick! They club Matt down then mug Nick to kick away, and BOOT him down the ramp! The crowd and limited fans boo, but Uno and Stu come out to commend their comrades. Stu and Uno dump Nick into the ring and this match begins!

Uno drags Nick up to throw haymakers, then bump him off buckles. Tag to Stu and they stomp away on Nick. The ref reprimands and counts but Uno lets up to exit. Stu and Uno double whip, Matt dodges and double LARIATS! Matt keeps going as he brings Stu up and tags in Nick. The bucks double wrench, double CHOP and double whip to double elbow. They drop the splash and the fist, then they catch Uno with kicks. Gutbuster to neckbreaker backbreaker!

Uno bails out, Stu runs into an elbow from Nick. Nick goes up and leaps to arm-drag! Nick mule kicks, sweeps the legs, then tags in Matt. By the skin of their teeth, Matt and Nick snatch victory from the jaws of defeat! The Dark Order can’t stop the Bucks, will Matt and Nick head back to the AEW World Tag Team Championship picture?

Wardlow knocks on MJF’s door.

MJF comes out, gets his gum, and this new gum guy is good. Nina takes credit for the hire, but MJF says she needs to speak when spoken. Other than that, great job. MJF keeps Lee Johnson from getting ahead of him, only MJF gets the spotlight. Will MJF have more platitudes to share on his road to All Out?

AEW stars share their favorite tag teams of all time!

The World Tag Team Champions, Kenny Omega and Hangman Page, share theirs first. Omega’s says The Young Bucks. Just look at all they’ve done! Hangman was going to say himself and Omega. Well, okay, but technically they’re still just two singles guys in a team. But The Bucks have done so much for pro-wrestling and tag team wrestling. “They reinvented tag team wrestling. They’re the gods of tag team wrestling.” But will Omega see himself and Hangman in a better light after defending their titles tonight?

MJF heads to the ring.

Maxwell Jacob Friedman leads the way as he and his campaign staff walk out on stage. We’ll hear from the 2020 championship hopeful after the break.

AEW returns as MJF stands at his podium. “Thank you, thank you,” he says to the booing crowds. Before he starts, he wants to implore us again in using #MJF2020 and #NotMyChampion on social media. Now, MJF has some interesting stats- Wait. Nina! SMILE!! Nina nods and smiles, and MJF feels better. Isn’t she a kidder? She’s just the best. But moving on, his assistant will show us the great polling numbers. MJF has 500% of the vote while Moxley has NEGATIVE 1000%, as if that’s all even possible. “You gotta love it.” The numbers don’t lie and neither does he. But we’re not here to talk numbers, no. There are much more important things. MJF might get emotional because he cares about our well-being. AEW Faithful, he mourns for your belief in Moxley, because today it dies.

Dictator Jon has made it clear, he doesn’t care about you. Otherwise, he’d be here tonight. But MJF is here. MJF will always be here, and that is a promise as your candidate. MJF is man enough to admit he has to take responsibility for Moxley’s absence. Dictator Jon isn’t here because he is afraid. He’s afraid of change and of MJF. It is perfectly understandable. Dictator Jon is in unfamiliar territory, because he doesn’t know how to handle someone with more talent than him. And he definitely doesn’t know how to deal with a pro-wrestler who won’t just look up at the lights for him. But because MJF cares about the fans who want him here, MJF wants Moxley to feel comfortable enough to show up tonight.

Therefore, MJF has his people move his podium so that he can lie down. “This better, Jon?” Is he in his comfort zone yet? The sad thing, “Jonathan,” is that MJF didn’t start this to have beef with Moxley, or a rivalry. MJF started this campaign because the company deserves quality. Moxley is a great wrestler, but he’s not a leader. Moxley is a dog. “A rabid dog chasing cars. You wouldn’t even know what to do with one if you caught it!” But there in lies the issue. Moxley has caught it. Moxley has the finest car, “Pretty Platinum,” the AEW World Championship. But if Moxley wants to prove MJF wrong, perhaps he should hand the keys over. Give them to a real leader. Why wait until All Out? Give the keys over to someone who is better than you, and you know it. “Fork the keys over, to me.” Because Mox knows, MJF knows, and the fans all know, that #WeDeserveBetter!

But wait! Moxley IS here! MJF knows Moxley comes in from the bleachers so MJF sends Wardlow and his men up there. MJF wants them to get “that idiot,” but MJF is the idiot, because Moxley actually did come out from the entry way! Moxley storms down the ramp to CLOBBER MJF! Moxley mugs MJF and throws him into his own podium! And then hits a PARADIGM SHIFT!! The crowd loves Moxley for laying MJF out and breaking the podium as he leaves! “Don’t you think for one second that makes us even! No not even close!” After what MJF did last week, he and Moxley won’t be even until All Out! Moxley will teach MJF a painful lesson in humility, and that this will be a very bitter pill for him to swallow! MJF clutches his neck and claims he can’t get up on his own. Will he rethink his smear campaign of The Maniac?

Backstage interview with Matt Hardy!

Hardy has a huge bandage on his head given the big gash Sammy Guevara gave him last week. Hardy is going to come back after waiting another 10 days. He’s alive because he doesn’t die. Hardy has seen red for all seven days, and will until he gets to make Sammy bleed just as much as he did! 10 days is just enough time for a very special Saturday Night Dynamite! Hardy is going to kick Sammy’s “weird little ass!” Tempers are flaring tonight, management wants Hardy to go home, but Hardy will not until he’s found Sammy! Sammy is “an obnoxious ant that needs to be squashed!” Hardy’s rage and fury will end Sammy! Is Hardy okay?

Hardy finds someone in a jacket and hat and thinks it’s Sammy! Hardy attacks, and it was just referee Mike Posey! Will Matt Hardy see clearly after he finally gets his hands on the Spanish God?

The Jurassic Express almost derailed the champions, but the Cowboy and Cleaner pulled it off! What will it take to stop these “two singles guys” from ruling over the AEW Tag Division?

Santana and Ortiz talk backstage.

Ortiz asks how Best Friends got home last week, but Santana doesn’t know and doesn’t care. True. They did get a sweet deal on those tires, though. Also, watch where you keep your stuff! Proud ‘n’ Powerful have the Best Friends’ luggage! And they start throwing it all around the showers! They dump out the gear, and bring out some bleach! PNP says they’re just helping Best Friends look better. “Apologize? What, are you tripping?” There’s no apologies coming for Chuck Taylor and Trent, but are there repercussions coming for Santana and Ortiz?

More AEW stars share their favorite tag teams ever.

The Butcher and The Blade say tag team wrestling is gritty, ugly, “it’s not the sizzle, it’s the meat and potatoes.” That’s why their favorites are the Road Warriors, Hawk and Animal. Two dudes that can clear an entire city!

FTR and the Young Bucks are in the ring!

Two great tag teams of this generation also stand with two great tag teams of the previous generations! Arn Anderson stands with Tully Blanchard as well as The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express, Robert Gibson and Ricky Morton! Matt Jackson is pretty sure everyone is loving Tag Team Appreciation Night. And speaking of, here are two of the greatest teams of all time! FTR shakes hands and bumps fists with the legends while Matt says the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express were the original Young Bucks. Robby and Ricky created the style Matt and Nick use. And through that greatness, they’d inspire great teams like The Rockers, Shawn and Marty, the Hardy Boys, Matt and Jeff. Then finally, two SoCal brothers, Matt and Nick Jackson. Therefore, the Bucks want to thank these two for what they’ve done, the Bucks wouldn’t be here without them.

Dax Harwood speaks now, knowing many at home are thinking they brought the legends out because they’re huge marks. Well, that’s damn right! Dax is the biggest mark for these guys, but it’s more than that. Dax tells these legends that FTR, the Bucks and everyone else here gets to make a living in the greatest sport in the world, professional wrestling. For seven and a half years, he and his best friend have traveled the globe, and have had the times of their lives, thanks to these legends. More importantly, Dax has a beautiful wife and daughter at home watching, who he loves. He gets to give them the life he’s never had, and that is because of these legends, so he is indebted to them forever!

Ricky speaks now, saying he never misses an AEW. He watches it, loves it, because it’s all he’s done his whole life. But he hasn’t seen so much chemistry in a match like FTR’s since Tully and Arn. But also, when it comes to the Young Bucks, the last 15 years, they have dominated wrestling and then revived tag team wrestling like the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express did! That’s great. The Bucks are this generation’s top tag team in the world! It reminds Ricky of a team from their generation, aka themselves. Arn speaks now, and asks Tully that while it’s been some time, he’ll help catch Tully up on something. Arn doesn’t blow smoke because it leaves a taste in his mouth. Yes, the Bucks have taken the tag team wrestling world to not just a spectacular or outstanding level, that doesn’t cover it. The Bucks have made it something entirely different, hats off to them.

Arn says Rock ‘n’ Roll Express are still going for 40 years, that’s a record. They’re the tag team of the CENTURY! And this might ruffle some feathers, but Arn has no problem saying it. FTR is the best team in the world today. Well, Ricky wants to counter but Tully takes the mic from him! Tully says Ricky doesn’t want to start nothing he can’t finish. Tully has news for everyone. Tom Brady is the greatest football player because he has championship rings. What makes you a great tag team is if you’ve got the belts! You can talk about being the baddest or the best, but as of tonight, NEITHER team here has the titles. So let’s pat ourselves on the back while looking in the mirror.

But Tully says he and Arn have had beef since last Labor Day when Arn jumped in on Tully’s guy, Spears VS Cody. Tully doesn’t understand that American Nightmare thing on Arn’s vest. Arn says he’s a grown ass man. Arn doesn’t need permission. But Shawn Spears is slithering out from the tunnel! Arn sees what’s about to happen, so Arn gets out. Tully wants to finish talking trash but Ricky pops him in the mouth! The Bucks and FTR keep this from getting any worse but then Dax gets pushed over. Cash worries about Dax because of the bad knee, and it’s on the Bucks and Spears to keep things from falling apart.

Spears gets Tully to leave peacefully, and Tag Team Appreciation Night turns a bit sour. Especially when Cash uses Dax’s knee brace to CLOBBER Robby from behind! FTR attacks Rock ‘n’ Roll Express while the Bucks are busy with Spears and Tully!! The Bucks only notice once Ricky takes the MIND BREAKER!! The Bucks can’t believe what they’ve just seen, but FTR hug over it. Omega and Hangman return and check on the legends and want to know what that was about. FTR does not give an answer, but will we get one soon enough?

Backstage interview with Mike Chioda.

Chioda officiated the TNT Championship match and is now AEW! It was a great time, but then Chris Jericho barges in. “C’mon, Marvez. 33-year vet?” This is THE Mike Chioda! #ChiChi (pronounced key-key). There’ve been some great times. Like that one time 18 years ago when Jericho had to save Chioda’s job. So that’s why Jericho wants Chioda to officiate his match with Orange Cassidy. Cassidy will lose and pay Jericho that $7000 for what he did to this jacket. But just in case, Jericho wants Chioda to know he needs to do the right thing. Chioda will call it right down the middle. Yeah, wink wink, nudge nudge. Call it down the middle, and then maybe Jericho can get Chioda a spot here in AEW. See you in the ring! Will Chioda do the right thing? Or will he “do the right thing?”

Sammy Guevara has his cards again.

AEW is picture in picture as Sammy uses the cards to ask Matt Hardy, “What’s wrong? Can’t get me… out of your HEAD?” Sammy laughs at his own joke, and recreates how he threw the chair into Hardy’s forehead. “Oh well. You need to relax. Enjoy your night off. Too bad though… You left your… THROWN! Typical Matt. Learning the HARD way!” Again, Sammy makes the motion of throwing the chair, while he takes a seat. Sammy says Hardy needs to relax, since he can’t get him anyway. Will this only make Matt Hardy want to crush Sammy more?

Hikaru Shida VS Heather Monroe!

The Stardom Samurai is on a hot streak as AEW Women’s World Champion! But now she’s in the ring with #TheKillerBae, who is making an AEW debut! Will Monroe shock us all against Shida?

Shida takes off her kimono style jacket as the bell rings, and Monroe BOOTS her right away! Monroe fires off with forearms but Shida pushes her back. Monroe turns things around on the ropes, the ref calls for break but Monroe pokes Shida in the eyes! “She’s your champ?!” Monroe taunts the crowd as she chokes Shida on the ropes! The ref counts, Monroe lets off, then clubs Shida. The crowd rallies as Monroe whips but Shida ducks and KNEES Monroe down! Shida rains down angry rights on Monroe but she lets up to drag Monroe around to a scoop and backbreaker! Shida fires up more as the crowd cheers her own. Shida bumps Monroe off buckles, runs corner to corner but Monroe dodges.

Monroe comes back but Shida kicks her away. Shida hops up but Monroe trips her up. Monroe elbows, ROUNDHOUSES, then hops up to STOMP Shida down! Cover, TWO! Monroe is furious already as she wraps Shida up in a straitjacket stretch. Shida fights up and powers out to reel Monroe into a snap suplex into buckles! Shida drags Monroe back up, toys with Monroe and then ROCKS her with a forearm! And another! And another! Shida suplexes for the FALCON- NO! Monroe victory roll counters, TWO! Shida has the legs for a STRETCH MUFFLER! She grabs an arm for NUMERO DOS! Monroe taps, Shida wins!

Winner: Hikaru Shida, by submission

Shida shows her versatility by having her first submission win in AEW! Tony Schiavone interviews Shida on the stage, and All Out is coming. There are many worthy challengers, but Shida says she is still waiting. She dares them to bring it on! Who will step to Shida’s AEW Women’s World Championship challenge?

Jake the Snake Roberts is backstage with Lance Archer.

“Ideally, you could have the match won before you ever go into the ring.” Some guy doesn’t watch where he’s going and bumps into Archer, so Archer THROWS him into another guy! The Snake keeps talking as Archer mauls both random wrestlers. “If you get them to where they’re breathing fear, and then fear is coming out of them,” that’s when you have them. You own them! And when you own someone, they’re afraid to make a move. Archer finishes up and asks if The Snake got to the good part. Not yet! Archer rips Jake’s shirt off and then spins him around. “EVERYBODY DIES” is written on Jake’s back! Archer hopes everyone can read that. The warning has been sent, but will anyone heed it?

The AEW Women’s Tag Team Tournament is in the semifinals!

The Nightmare Sisters, Brandi Rhodes and Allie, will face Big & Lil Swole while Ivelisse & Diamante take on “the prettiest team in the tournament,” Anna Jay & Tay Conti. See who wins to head to the finals this Monday on YouTube! Plus, AEW Dark will be on Tuesday and PART ONE of All Out 2019 will be on Wednesday.

Be ready for SATURDAY Night Dynamite!

August 22nd at 6 PM EST or as soon as the NBA Playoffs finish for the day, AEW takes over TNT for the weekend! Private Party takes on FTR while The Elite takes on The Dark Order’s 3, 4 and 5 in a Six Man Tag! And the AEW Women’s Tag Cup Finals will also be a big part of Saturday Night Dynamite! Plus, Darby Allin returns to action after his bloody loss to Jon Moxley, and a HUGE 8 Man Tag reunites The Butcher and the Blade with the Lucha Brothers as they take on The Natural Nightmares and Jurassic Express! Last but not least, it is the AEW TNT Championship as Cody defends against Mr. Brodie Lee!

$7000 Obligation Match: Chris Jericho VS Orange Cassidy!

Le Champion’s issues with Freshly Squeeze started all because Cassidy sauntered into an Inner Circle interview. It has escalated to an assault with a sack of oranges, to a brawl in the stands, to the dumping of orange juice onto Jericho’s fashionable white suit jacket. Of course, that white jacket is now more orange than even real oranges, and Jericho wants compensation! Will Jericho beat it out of Cassidy? Or will Cassidy finally humble the Demo God?

AEW returns as Jericho returns. Things will truly be 1v1 as the Inner Circle and Best Friends are banned from ringside. Of course, Floyd the Baseball Bat still accompanies Jericho everywhere. The crowd is torn over Demo God, but Jericho encourages any noise they make. The bell rings and Jericho circles with Cassidy. Cassidy raises his hands, but Jericho rushes to stop them from going into pockets! Cassidy dodges and the two start throwing fast hands! Cassidy gets the edge with body shots and more haymakers in the corner, but he lets up at the count of 4. Cassidy comes back with a BIG leaping forearm, then more body shots! Cassidy ROCKS Jericho, then runs, to FLYING SHOULDER Jericho down!

Jericho gets to ropes, Cassidy clotheslines him out! The crowd cheers as Cassidy slingshots for the PESCADO! Cassidy keeps hammering away but lets up at the ref’s count. Cassidy kicks, Jericho forearms and whips. Cassidy reverses to send Jericho into the wall! The crowd is fired up as Cassidy brings Jericho up again. Cassidy whips Jericho into railing! Jericho slowly gets up while Cassidy slow rolls to refresh the count. Cassidy goes back out to ROCK Jericho with that right, then Cassidy goes back to the ring. Cassidy climbs up top, aims at Jericho and HANDS IN POCKET TRUST FALLS! Direct hit! The crowd loves this as Cassidy puts Jericho in.

Cassidy climbs up again, Jericho stands, FLYING DDT! Cover, TWO!! Jericho survives but Cassidy powers up the fist. Cassidy runs, but into a BOOT! Jericho catches his breath and stomps Cassidy down. Jericho brings Cassidy up and back suplexes high and hard! He brings Cassidy up to CHOP, and CHOP and whip. Cassidy reverses, Jericho holds ropes, then Jericho sends Cassidy out to the apron. Jericho ROCKS Cassidy, then springboard triangle dropkicks! Cassidy goes down as Jericho soaks up the heat. Jericho checks his face while AEW goes picture in picture, #CJOC2.

Cassidy stirs as the ref starts a count. Jericho shouts at the booing wrestlers on one side of the ring. Cassidy gets up, Jericho runs and blasts him off into railing! Jericho soaks up the heat again while Cassidy stirs. Jericho goes out to fetch Cassidy, brings him up to scoop and snake eyes on the railing! Jericho grins as he drags Cassidy back up and bumps him off the apron. He puts Cassidy in the ring, takes his time returning, and looms over Cassidy in the center of the ring. Jericho drags Cassidy up, flips off booing fans, and suplexes to hold Cassidy up for a count of 10! Jericho dusts off his hands before covering, TWO! Jericho is frustrated and he slaps Cassidy around.

Jericho brings Cassidy up again, tells the fans to watch this, and suplexes again. Cassidy is upside down for another count of 10, and maybe even 20, before Jericho does squats! Jericho finally drops Cassidy after AEW returns to single picture! Jericho winks to the camera and covers, TWO! Cassidy lives but Jericho SLAPS him! Jericho drags Cassidy up, the crowd rallies but Jericho keeps toying with Cassidy. Cassidy throws body shots and palm strikes, runs but into double forearms! LIONSAULT! Cover, TWO! Jericho grows a bit frustrated with Cassidy now, but he still toys with him while soaking up the heat.

Jericho watches Cassidy slowly stand, and Jericho taunts Cassidy. Cassidy “ROCKS” Jericho with “haymakers,” over and over and over and over. Cassidy builds up speed but then he dodges Jericho to SUPERKICK! Cassidy is trying!! He LARIATS Jericho back down! Cassidy gets himself to a corner, climbs up, and leaps for a HUGE crossbody! Cover, TWO! Jericho kicks but Cassidy catches it for a DRAGON SCREW! Then another! Jericho clutches his leg but Cassidy walks into a forearm. Jericho whips, Cassidy boots then hops up, but the Rana is caught to the WALLS OF JERICHO!! Jericho sits deep but Cassidy endures! Cassidy crawls, reaches, but Jericho drags him from ropes! Cassidy comes so close, but he slips through and cradles Jericho, TWO!!

Jericho gets up, kicks low, but Cassidy gets him for a third DRAGON SCREW! Cassidy twists the leg into an ANKLE LOCK! Jericho endures as Cassidy cranks on the heel! Jericho rolls over and kicks Cassidy away. Cassidy comes back to get a kick and a suplex, but he makes it STUN-DOG MILLIONAIRE! Cassidy runs, tilt-o-whirl but Jericho denies it to CODE BREAKER! Cover, TWO!! Jericho is furious and he slaps Cassidy. The crowd rallies up but here comes Floyd! The ref tells Jericho to stop right there, but Jericho says, “Do the right thing!” That’s what this is! Jericho tells Chioda to ignore this so he can keep his job. But Chioda can’t, he takes the bat and throws it out! Jericho is furious, Cassidy rolls him up! TWO!!

Jericho runs into a scoop, MICHINOKU DRIVER! Cover, TWO!! Cassidy runs to PENALTY KICK! The armband comes off and Cassidy isn’t just trying, he’s SERIOUS! He runs at Jericho, SUPER ORANGE PUNCH!! But wait! Best Friends intercept Proud ‘n’ Powerful trying to sneak in! The four of them brawl on stage and that distracts Chioda! Jake Hager slips in through the back, and POWERSLAMS Cassidy!! The Inner Circle still gets away with cheating! Jericho crawls to cover Cassidy, TWO!?!? Cassidy still lives and the screw job fails!! Jericho is at a loss for words, but the fans rally up. Cassidy forearms, Jericho gives it back, but Cassidy fires off a flurry! Cassidy waistlocks, Jericho pushes Chioda and LOW BLOW MULE KICKS!

Jericho runs, JUDAS- NO! Cassidy gets around, traps an arm, Mouse Trap cover! CASSIDY WINS!!

Winner: Orange Cassidy, by pinfall

Jericho just got beat by the guy who puts his hands in his pockets!! Le Champion can’t believe it, but The Sloth outsmarted him! Will Jericho ever live this down? Is Cassidy finally in the upper echelons of pro-wrestling?

My Thoughts:

A great episode for AEW, just straight to the point and packed with action! For one, I like the feud building between The Dark Order and The Elite. The Young Bucks have a great match against Uno and Stu, and of course win to stay strong in the tag division. Cody has an incredible match with Scorpio Sky, and that completed copy of the TNT Championship looks incredible, too. Brodie coming after this title is a good move, and I think it’s clever for him to make the incomplete title a prop in the match. This takes the Vince McMahon parallels to a new level, it’s like how Vince kept the “Rhodes” name away from Cody for a long time. Hangman and Omega have a great tag title match with Jurassic Express, though some spots seemed like they could’ve taken someone out of action. Omega and Hangman also having that bit with favorite tag teams and disagreeing, another subtle yet great detail into their story.

MJF has a pretty good segment to continue his political shtick, and the literally fake poll getting more ridiculous actually works somehow. Moxley tricking MJF was great, too, and this is really going to up the heat between them for All Out. Shida gets a quick match to keep herself going, and I feel like AEW making a big deal out of next week’s Saturday Dynamite needs to have a huge contender’s match to name an All Out challenger. I do like that there is the Women’s Tag Cup being featured for a “short turnaround” from Monday, and whatever combination we get in the finals will be a lot of fun to watch. I almost feel like that could be an opening for Britt to be back to 100% health “early” and she screws Big Swole over before their All Out grudge match.

Sammy and Matt Hardy have great promos on each other, that grudge match is going to be great. Jake and Archer have a hilarious moment, and poor Jake seems to be less Archer’s manager and spokesman as he is Archer’s mouthpiece and henchman. I don’t think Jake is going to ditch Archer, but he could try and man up so he isn’t being pushed around. Tully really got fired up during Tag Team Appreciation Night, but he does have a point. There were great teams in that ring but they need to get those titles at some point. FTR go Heel hard with that attack on Rock ‘n’ Roll Express, but it also increases the chances of them joining Shawn Spears in an AEW Four Horsemen team. It might not be with Hangman, though, he didn’t seem to like what they did.

The main event was an incredible rematch, and of course the Inner Circle violates the ringside ban to try and cheat. Fortunately it doesn’t work out, and Cassidy gets a great win! I feel like this isn’t the end of it, though, as the series is now tied. All Out should be the tiebreaker, and that should also go to Cassidy to really boost him up the rankings. If Brodie doesn’t take the TNT Championship on Saturday Dynamite, I am starting to want Cassidy to. Jericho can lose to Cassidy while PNP beat Best Friends so that the factions are tied, and then something else is the blow-off, just like how Stadium Stampede was the blow-off between Elite and Inner Circle. Maybe Full Gear 2020 finally brings us Blood & Guts, as well as fans, and the fans can pop for Best Friends, Cassidy and Private Party on behalf of Matt Hardy defeating Inner Circle.

My Score: 9.3/10

MJF is here!

Portland cheers but Maxwell Jacob Friedman is in no mood! He immediately shouts for them to cut his music as he storms his way into the ring. The fans boo but MJF says, “You wanna boo me? No, no, no, see I’m not like your paper champion, Darby Allin. When I come out here, you show me the respect I’ve earned!” The fans continue to boo but MJF says last week will be forever be known as the Seattle Screw Job! Three days prior to his match with Darby Allin for MJF’s AEW World Championship, MJF wrestled in an all-out war with Kenny Omega and came out victorious. MJF did not come out without being banged up, bruised, and battered.

Three days later, he is informed he is wrestling Darby that day, and then gets hit in the nuts! That SKANK, Aubrey Edwards, does a fast count! MJF’s shoulders were up! So no, Darby ain’t the world champion, Darby is a dirty little cheater! The fans boo the hypocrisy but he asks if they actually believe Darby can beat MJF at 100%. “YES!” Do this disrespectful little s*its actually believe Darby can beat MJF when he’s prepared? “YES!” Then they must have short term memory loss, so here’s a history lesson: MJF is the most complete pro-wrestler in the history of this sport! MJF is the man who has beaten every top name pro-wrestling has to offer!

MJF is the man who made sure Hangman Adam Page can never be AEW World Champion ever again! And MJF is the man who kicked out of the One Winged Angel like it was nothing! The fans boo but MJF says he is the BEST professional wrestler in the world! Darby Allin, MJF doesn’t give a damn about the main event with the Psycho Killer! If Darby has an ounce of dignity in that fragile body, he will give MJF that title back, RIGHT NOW! The fans boo, and instead of Darby, MJF gets Kevin Knight! The fans cheer The Jet as he walks down the ramp and into the ring. Knight gets a mic to tell MJF, “Different city, same old Max coming out here and whining like a little b*tch.”

The fans chant that at MJF, and Knight says Portland is tired of MJF talking. The Jet just landed, the air’s gonna switch up as it’s about to get real. It’s getting real, because The Jet is 2 Fly. Before MJF gets to hating, he has to be honest: Doesn’t The Jet look clean with the TNT title around his waist? The fans cheer that! Knight says when you’re a real champion, a fighting champion, you’re willing to put the title on the line at any time. Now, MJF, don’t you remember when Knight had you pinned for what seemed like an eternity? If anyone got cheated and screwed, it’s Knight, cuz he should be Jet2Belts right now!

The fans cheer again, but MJF raises an eyebrow. MJF says okay, so, first of all, what an elegant speaker Knight is. Almost Aristotle! Let’s go over the points: Knight is The Jet, The Jet is 2 Fly, The Jet is TNT Champion, The Jet had almost beat MJF, The Jet thinks it is socially acceptable to be friends with Speedball Mike Bailey, and The Jet should be AEW World Champion. Did we get all that right? Okay, cool. Well, obviously, Knight’s memory isn’t that great, but MJF’s memory is, because he’s always the smartest person in the room… MJF beat Knight with a Heatseeker for an easy W. So no, Knight, you should not be world champion.

If anyone should be world champion, it is MJF and MJF alone! But MJF gives Knight credit, nice hardware. Give it up for the TNT Champion! The fans cheer, and MJF says what a cute little title that is, huh? It fits Knight like a glove, because he is a TNT Champion type: a workhorse, good hand, average Joe. Y’know, someone with a ceiling. Someone who will never be AEW World Champion. Someone who should know better than to step into MJF’s ring and breathe MJF’s air. Someone who damn sure should know better than to allow MJF’s AEW World Championship to come out of their average little mouth.

The two stare down but Knight says keep running your mouth, and Jet will slap that big nose off your face and send you packing! MJF is doing a lot of fibbing, talking about Jet not being AEW World Championship material. Anyone can look at Jet and see he is a gold mine! The fans cheer that! Knight says MJF wants to talk about the lineage of this workhorse title, well, some of the best wrestlers have held this title. So no coincidence that someone like MJF has not held it before. The fans like that zinger! Someone like MJF has always had everything handed to him, so let’s keep the train going. Let’s keep it going as The Jet hands MJF an ass whooping! The fans cheer that!

MJF says okay, okay, no, no, shut up! Let’s get this straight, Kevin: You wanna wrestle MJF? What does MJF get out of that? He’s already proven he’s better than Knight. Though, Knight did talk about the TNT title, and MJF’s kinda sold on the belt. Matter of fact, what really makes MJF want it is he can tell how proud Knight is of that title. In fact, MJF would love to turn that pride into depression. So here’s the thing, Jet. You wanna wrestle MJF? Put that TNT title on the line and you’ve got yourself a match! The fans like the sound of that! Knight says hell yeah! Let’s do it! Cuz The Jet is always ready, and being in Rip City tonight, Knight will rip MJF a new one here and now!

The fans fire up and MJF shouts for a ref! Portland is getting hot as Knight and MJF are ready to open the show with a fight! But will MJF make himself the Scumbag Face of TNT? Or will The Jet be #2Fly2StopNow?

AEW TNT Championship: Kevin Knight VS MJF!

But then MJF bails out with a smile on his face. “You’re gonna dance with The Devil next week, kid!” The fans boo, seems there won’t be a match after all. Will Knight make MJF regret postponing his ass kicking?

Backstage interview with The Demand.

Renee Paquette is with Ricochet, Toa Liona & Bishop Kaun and welcomes them for being here, along with… Chris Jericho! Ricochet rolls his eyes as Y2J surprises them with his presence. It was announced for this week’s Collision, a Six Man Tag match of The Demand VS Jericho and partners of his choosing, but has he found said partners? Ricochet laughs, because what are we talking about? Of course Jericho does not know who his partners are gonna be? Liona points out Jericho’s burned every bridge, and Ricochet adds that no one is gonna team with Jericho now that his new gimmick is getting his ass beat The Demand every week he shows up.

Jericho says Ricochet is about to receive a Cease & Desist. What? Why? Jericho’s new moniker, way too long, he got it copywritten. W-What? Ricochet is the one who says it. Yes, it is a great idea, bald, but Jericho can easily set Ricochet and everyone up with a brand new shirt, available on AEW Shop! Yes, it says “Jericho: The Guy Who Gets His Ass Beat by The Demand Every Week That He Shows Up.” Ricochet is upset already. Mock him all you want, Jericho, but on Collision, Ricochet & GOA will steal Jericho’s dignity. There is no one in the locker room that wants to team with Jericho! And even if there were, the result would still be the same: Demand UP!

So this ends the same way as it did at Dynasty: Ricochet pinning Jericho via the “Ricosault.” Jericho says what Ricochet is forgetting is that Jericho doesn’t need to find guys who like him. He just has to find guys who hates Ricochet, bald prick. Jericho storms off, Ricochet asks about that last part, but Liona says it’s okay, let Jericho try to find anyone, it won’t matter. But will the Ayatollah of Rock ‘n’ Rolla have plenty of choices when it comes to those who want to beat down The Demand?

Brody King VS Lio Rush!

Well, now tonight’s action kicks off as The King of Death crosses paths with The Problem Child. Lio’s new persona even gave Pac the creeps, but will it have the same effect on Brody? Or will this be Lio’s Final Hour?

The bell rings and Lio is talking to himself, just like before, but then Brody YANKS Lio from the corner! The fans rally for Brody but Lio looks up at Brody, his expression going back and forth between a confused grown and a wild grin. Lio circles Brody while the fans bark, but even Brody seems unsure what to think of Lio as Lio offers the handshake. Brody accepts, but he isn’t letting go! The fans cheer as Lio struggles, but then Lio BITES Brody’s hand! Brody lets go, Lio runs, redirects, dodges, and repeat! Lio CROSSBODIES, but into Brody’s arms! Brody SLAMS Lio and Lio scrambles to the corner! The fans bark while Brody stares Lio down.

Brody runs up, Lio dodges, but Brody denies the stunner. Brody shoves Lio to another corner, then runs in for a SPLASH! And LARIAT! Brody snapmares but Lio bails out. Brody pursues, Lio CHOPS, but Brody just frowns. Brody CHOPS and Lio is stinging already! Brody CHOPS Lio and Lio flops against railing! Brody brings as chair around, makes Lio take a seat, and then barks as he gets space. The fans join in, and Brody runs up, but Lio dodges! The splash hits railing! Lio goes up onto the desk, creeps Nigel out a bit, then CROSSBODIES, but Brody catches him again! Brody pops Lio around but Lio slips free to POST Brody!

Lio RAMS Brody into the railing and the fans fire up! Brody slumps down while Dynamite goes picture in picture.

The ref checks Brody, and though he clutches an arm, he is okay to continue. So Lio clamps on and CLAWS Brody’s eyes! The ref reprimands but Lio stops at 4. Brody goes to railing while Lio goes to the ring, and Lio is already doing his own ring count. The ref says hold on, and starts the official count. Lio paces as he waits on Brody, then DROPKICKS Brody off the apron! Lio builds speed, DIVES, but Brody catches him again! APRON CHOKE SLAM! Lio slumps down now while Brody shakes out the bad arm. Brody drags Lio up, CHOPS him, then stalks him around the way. Brody CHOPS Lio, keeps him from escaping into the crowd, then CHOPS again!

Lio staggers around the way but Brody pursues. Brody brings Lio up to whip, but Lio stops short of hitting railing. Brody runs up, but Lio dodges, sending him into the railing! Lio then whips Brody, but Brody reverses, and Lio hits railing after all! Brody storms up on Lio, drags him up, and puts him in the ring. Brody shakes out the bad arm while Lio goes to a corner. Brody runs corner to corner but Lio dodges again! Brody hits buckles, Lio BITES a leg! The ref reprimands but Lio stops, so he can SPIN KICK! Brody is down but so is Lio! Lio still has a wild smile on his face as he sits back up. Dynamite returns to single picture as Lio fires forearms!

Brody grabs Lio by both hands, whips him, but Lio rebounds into RUSH- NO! No Rush Hour stunner, Brody back suplexes! The fans fire up as Brody keeps moving, and he LARIATS Lio inside-out! Both men are down again as Brody still works on the bad arm. The fans rally as Brody storms after Lio, but Lio bails out to the apron. Brody drags Lio up, but Lio HOTSHOTS the bad arm! Lio brings Brody in, HOTSHOT STUNNER! Brody sputters and flops to the apron while Lio says something is getting stronger. Lio fireman’s carries?! Brody CLUBS Lio, then reels him in! Canadian Rack, but Lio CLAWS the eyes again!

Lio is free, and he HANDSPRING KICKS Brody down! The fans rally while Lio runs around like a gremlin! Then he DIVES! Down goes Brody and the fans fire up again! Lio climbs a corner, goes to the very top, and he SUPER DUPER CROSSBODIES! Down goes Brody after all, and he again clutches the arm. Lio grins another wild grin while the fans cheer. Lio leaves Brody behind to go back to the ring. Brody rises, but Lio climbs! The fans fire up again as Lio sees Brody slide into the ring! FROG SPLASH onto Brody’s back! Cover, ONE!! Brody toughs it out, but Lio starts to foam at the mouth! Lio warns the ref, then goes to a corner.

Lio climbs while Brody stands, and Brody runs up! Lio leaps over, rolls through, then dodges a lariat. Lio waistlocks but Brody wrenches free and whips Lio, for the BOSS MAN SLAM! The fans fire up for Brody as Lio goes to a corner. Brody barks, the fans are with him, CANNONBALL! Direct hit and Brody gets Lio up, for the GONZO BOMB!! Cover, Brody wins!

Winner: Brody King, by pinfall

Lio’s strange new nature certainly took some getting used to, but Brody still powered through to victory. Seven singles wins in a row and Brody grabs a mic. “Tonight, in the main event, I’ll be keeping a close eye on that world title match.” The fans cheer that! Brody tells Ciampa that if he comes out on top, congratulations. But Darby Allin… Brody is so proud of Darby. The fans cheer, but Brody says, “Not proud enough to not bring the violence.” Brody has put both men on notice! Will the King of Death battle a Psycho Killer or a Relentless One when the time comes?

Backstage interview with Tommaso Ciampa.

Speaking of the Psycho Killer, Renee Paquette is there to ask him about tonight’s main event match for THE AEW World Championship. Darby Allin’s first defense, Ciampa’s first challenge, how is it going to go? Ciampa says he’s been told his entire career what he is not. Not big enough, not 6’4″, not 250 pounds, not able to pass the “airport test,” not charismatic enough, not main event material. But he will tell you what he is: A husband, a father, a son, a brother, with an insane work ethic. Tonight isn’t about villains and heroes, but about passion, about proving that glass ceilings are imaginary.

Tonight is about professional wrestling, for the grandest sport in this business, THE AEW World Championship. So if you’re asking Ciampa if he’s ready… Ciampa stands up to say, “You have never seen a man more prepared for his moment than I am tonight. Now go ask Darby Allin: Do you want this more than I need it?” Ciampa heads out, will nothing stop him from getting what he needs?

Adam Copeland speaks.

The Rated R Superstar is backstage as he tells FTR, “You said that Christian and I will never get another tag team title shot. Now, I might be biased, but I think we deserve another one. So I came up with a plan. Cuz if nothing else, I’m a fair man. I came up with an idea that I don’t even think you can refuse. Because you guys talk about being the best tag team of all time, FTR: The Greatest Team Team of All Time, right? Hmm. Debatable. But you’re one of the best ever, that’s nondebatable, otherwise you don’t do this (points to small scar) to my face. So here’s the idea: At Double or Nothing, Christian and I challenge you for the AEW Tag Team Championships in a New York Street Fight!

“Now, I know your little brains are struggling with, ‘What exactly is in it for for us?’ Well, here we go. You wanna prove you’re the best ever? If you beat us at Double or Nothing, we retire as a team. Hmm. Whaddya think? I know what my answer would be. And if you’re actually the best tag team of all time, I know what your answer would be! Unless deep down inside, deep down, you know we’re better. Only one way to prove it. Now, like I said, I know what I’d do, but I’m a man. Ball’s in your court, boys.” Cope heads out, what will Dax & Cash say to him raising the stakes?

Mina Shirakawa VS Hikaru Shida w/ Kris Statlander!

The Fighting Gravure Idol suspects of The Shining Samurai of being very two-faced, and not just in this passive aggressive way she works with Kris Statlander as a team. Mina suspects Shida even had something to do with what happened to Toni Storm! But will Mina expose Shida’s true self? Or will Shida simple strike down #MinaNow?

Adam Copeland is here!

The fans fire up and sing along as The Rated R Superstar makes his entrance, complete with the pyro but also a black eye. Cope goes to the ring, he grabs a mic, and he tells Seattle, “If you couldn’t tell, Dynasty on Sunday didn’t necessarily go our way. Yes, my face got messed up, way to go, Einstein. I got glue in my forehead, staples in my forehead, I got a shiner. Let’s face it, FTR… They said what they were gonna do and they did it.” The fans boo but Cope says they got to Christian, too, that’s why he’s not here. Christian’s gotta get an MRI on his forearm to see if it’s broke. The fans also boo that.

Cope says FTR gave his wife a piledriver. They took Christian’s watch! And in Christian’s world, that’s actually worse! There are three things you don’t mess with when it comes to Christian: His watch, his wine, and his women. In that order. But FTR, on Dynamite, you came out and said that while you’re the champions, Cope & Cage will not get another title shot. The fans boo again, but Cope says he is cooking an idea on that so bear with him. But if FTR thinks that this is just about titles, that C&C are just gonna walk away cuz they didn’t win at Dynasty, they’ve watched C&C’s careers and think that these two are just gonna walk away?

Do you think that they’re just gonna tuck their tails and run? The fans say “NO!” Cope says that is NOT what they do! Christian was forced to retire for seven YEARS! He busted his ass and he got this back! The fans cheer that, and Cope says he was retired for NINE YEARS, told he can never do this again because if he fell over, he could die! But Cope is standing here, full o’ piss ‘n’ vinegar! C&C are like dogs on a bone, and they will END FTR and take their pound of flesh! The fans cheer, but then FTR makes their way out here. Cope is ready to fight, but where are they? FTR walks out on stage, and Stoke has the mic as he smiles at Cope.

But then RPG VICE rush Cope, just like last week! Cope is ready this time and he fights off Rocky & Trent, but now FTR joins in! The fans boo this 4v1 mugging with Stoke cheering them on! But wait! The Young Bucks rush out here! Matt & Nick Jackson rush the ring, and they dodge FTR to CLOBBER RPG Vice! Then DOUBLE SUPERKICKS for FTR! RPG Vice go after The Bucks, then send them at each other! The Bucks reverse to LARIAT Rocky, then they DOUBLE SUPERKICK Trent! Cope SPEARS Trent down and the fans fire up! Cope snarls as he stands back up, and he shakes hands with The Bucks as thanks for the help.

Cope & The Bucks stare FTR down as FTR retreats, but will The Bucks and C&C have to fight it out to go after those tag team championships?

Jack Perry speaks.

“At Dynasty, I got my first taste of what it’s like to defend this championship. And it’s exactly what I’ve been waiting for. But Don Callis, you only got close enough to get a sniff, because I beat your biggest, baddest and most dangerous, Mark Davis. But after what you just did to the Young Bucks, well, I wanna shove this up your big, stupid, spray-tanned nose. So why don’t you go ahead and pick your favorite goon out of the bunch and meet me next week in Portland so that I can add another notch to my belt as the National Champion.” Jungle Jack has thrown out the challenge, but who will be up to the task?

Backstage interview with Don Callis & Kazuchika Okada.

Lexy Nair is with The Invisible Hand and The Rainmaker, and brings up that Callis promised Konosuke Takeshita a shot at the AEW International Championship at Double or Nothing if he and Okada got along at Dynasty. Now, given how that match went, is the deal still on? Callis says he looked back at the tape, and it is sad to say, maybe even embarrassing, that Okada & Takeshita did NOT follow the arrangement they discussed. Callis can get Okada out of this, there doesn’t have to be a title match. Okada shakes his head and says he is not going to back down. He wants this match! Okada knows he can beat Takeshita, because Okada is a champion! Unlike Takeshita!

Okada storms off, Callis follows, but will the NJPW World Television Champion prove Okada wrong?

While their mutual amigo is back home in Mexico, preparing for Supercard of Honor, the King of Death will team with the King of the Ropes and the Talisman of CMLL! Will Brody, Dorada y Mistico hold down the fort for Bandido? Or could Gibson, Riff & Rivera shock the world?

As if anything else was going to happen! Will Brody, Dorada y Mistico blaze a trail to the top of AEW in all divisions?

Kris & Shida regroup backstage.

They’re both feeling good from their win, and Lexy Nair steps in with congratulations. But she also brings up that someone requested this time to talk with them, and it is Mina Shirakawa. Mina steps in, and tells Stat sorry, but she’s specifically here for Shida. Mina tells Shida that uh duh, she knows Japanese, too! So Mina knows exactly what Shida said about Harley. AND a kendo stick was left behind in Toni Storm’s locker room! Mina isn’t sure what Shida is up top, but she does NOT trust her. Oh, is that so? Shida tells “Shirakawa-san” in Japanese that it must be nice to get this far just on looks! Mina is pissed but Kris keeps the peace.

Shida storms off, and Mina tells Kris to not trust Shida. Kris storms off, too, but could Mina have a point? Could Shida have taken out Toni Storm to clear room for herself at the top?

AEW Women’s World Championship: Thekla VS Alex Windsor!

The Toxic Spider took another shortcut to shortchange an opponent when she snuck one on Jamie Hayter at Dynasty. Iron Will Windsor wants to avenge her best mate, but will she make herself a double champion in the process? Or will Thekla take out two Brawling Birds in one week?

The introductions are made, the AEW belt is raised, and we see who survives this Collision!

The bell rings and the fans rally up as the two circle. Windsor runs up, Thekla dodges, and Thekla swaggers around. Windsor shrugs that off to try again, but Thekla dodges again. Thekla swaggers her way out of the ring, but Windsor pursues! The cat ‘n’ mouse game goes around the way, and Thekla attacks as Windsor slides in! Windsor tumbles but Thekla grins as the fans duel. Thekla goes up the corner now, and she aims at Windsor for a SUPER DUPER CROSSBODY! Direct hit and down goes Windsor! Thekla grins again while Collision goes picture in picture.

Thekla taunts Windsor before she drags her up. Thekla then THROWS Windsor into railing! Windsor sputters and writhes but Thekla refreshes the ring count. Thekla then drags Windsor up, makes her take a seat, then climbs up to rain down fists! The fans count along, and Thekla goes all the way to TEN! Or maybe “zehn?” Either way, Thekla reels Windsor in, only for Windsor to RAM her into the railing! Windsor fires off fists, then climbs up to rain them down! Windsor definitely goes to TEN, then brings Thekla around to whip hard into the apron! Windsor CHOPS Thekla, but Thekla whips Windsor into barriers!

Windsor falls in a heap, and Thekla soaks up the cheers and jeers. The ref wants this back in the ring so Thekla leaves Windsor behind for the count. Windsor slowly rises up, and she rolls into the ring at 8. Thekla CLUBS Windsor down, steps on her face, but steps off as the ref counts. Thekla then drops onto Windsor for the CROSSFACE! Windsor endures, fights up and around, but Thekla lets go to CLUB Windsor. Windsor fires body shots in return and backs Thekla to a corner. Windsor runs up, but Thekla ROCKS her! Thekla then BOOTS Windsor, reels her in, and has the HANGING HEADSCISSORS as Spring Breakthru returns to single picture!

Then Windsor get moving, ducks ‘n’ dodges, redirects, and FLYING SHOULDER TACKLES!

Pump handle and- NO, Thekla still fights the lift! Thekla ducks ‘n’ dodges to tilt-o-whirl, BLACK WIDOW STRETCH! Windsor endures the modified octopus, but she powers up to reach out! ROPEBREAK! The fans cheer while Thekla lets go in frustration. Thekla hauls Windsor back up, but Windsor breaks free, only for Thekla to SOBAT! Thekla runs, but Windsor LARIATS her down! The fans fire up while both women are down again!

Windsor rises, the fans rally, and Windsor goes up! But Thekla hurries to SMACK Windsor! Thekla climbs, but Windsor fights with body shots! “This is Awesome!” as Windsor HAMMERS away on Thekla! Thekla CLAWS Windsor’s face, then sneaks the brass knuckles out! But Windsor blocks the punch to HEADBUTT! Windsor goes up, over, and SUNSET FLIP- NO, Thekla holds on! BRASS KNUCKLE PUNCH!!! The fans boo as Thekla hides her evidence! Thekla then runs up, CURB STOMP!! Cover, Thekla wins!

Winner: Thekla, by pinfall (still AEW Women’s World Champion)

Another fight, another dirty tactic! But in the end, even Windsor fell into the Toxic Spider’s trap! Will anyone ever get wise to Thekla’s tricks? Or will AEW always be toxic?

My Thoughts:

A great Collision, though kinda hard to follow that great Dynamite from last night. A lot of these matches felt like filler, but because it’s AEW, they even make filler go above and beyond. Pac VS Lio was actually the first real display of this “Problem Child” persona that I really liked. Lio got to show more personality, and seeing Pac & Garcia be afraid of Lio really helped sell the character. Great win for Pac, though, and maybe he goes for the TNT title next. Brody, Mistico y Dorada of course won their match, but again, they made the squash match a fun match. Them mentioning Bandido and Supercard of Honor was nice, it means they care about ROH on some level.

Very good opening promo from Cope, but of course FTR had to show up. RPG Vice attacking again was redundant, but The Bucks making the save was a nice change. Makes me think we’re getting an 8 Man Tag, FTRPG Vice VS Cope, Cage & The Bucks, and that somehow leads to the tag title match for Double or Nothing. Great tag match from The Bucks VS The Rascalz, and even a good move for The Dogs to go after those teams. I wonder if The Dogs and even The Rascalz get in on the tag match. Five, maybe even six teams, all fighting for the titles, that’d be awesome stuff for Double or Nothing, and a great way to give The Bucks their historic fourth reign.

Kris & Shida had a very good tag match and of course they won, but I like Mina accusing Shida of being whodunnit. Shida is certainly being two-faced, but who knows if she’ll be chosen as the one who took out Toni Storm. Great Six Man Tag from Conglomeration VS Lethal Twist, and of course The Conglomeration won. Great Continental Championship Eliminator, and great showing for Nick Wayne in his return to Dynamite. I still think he needs more to do with the ROH World TV title, but hey, they could use this to say Nick won some respect from Moxley. The story still feels like Moxley and Ospreay will run it back at Double or Nothing.

And as I figured from last night, Thekla was gonna cheat to win and keep the title. It was a great main event, but there might be something bigger in store for Double or Nothing, like a Triple Threat against both Brawling Birds.

My Score: 8.8/10
